We tried something different this time....we didn't have any research/script that we prepped. Just a topic that we talked about with no preparation. And honestly, we had a lot of fun discussing this one organically! Just chatting about stories in video games and how they tug at our emotions and make us feel a certain kind of way. It's amazing when you have a video game story that just pulls you in, isn't it?
One of Joe's dogs unplugged the setup so we lost a few mins of recording in the middle and had to go back and redo it. Oh well.

Nate really channels his inner nerd for this one. To be fair, so does Joe. This was, according to Nate, a dumpster fire of a game and movie. But, also according to Nate, the game was also super fun and nostalgic.
THANK YOU for 100 downloads!

In this episode, Joe and Nate talk about some of the first examples of female protagonists in video games and chat a little bit about some more modern ones and the impact they've had on the industry as a whole.

Nate finishes talking about Super Mario Sunshine, with some commentary about caterpillars mating. He also gives an interesting fact about animals. We need more animal facts.

For Nate's next dose of nostalgia, he takes us through the GameCube classic Super Mario Sunshine! In addition to the plot of the game, he gives us a little background on the game itself, and the 2 lame hosts just nerd out a little about a game that was from our childhood.
*We recorded this before the previous episode, but in an effort to keep the 2 parts together, these were uploaded this way*

We record from our cabin in Crater Lake, Oregon while we are on vacation! There's a lot of beer being drank during this recording, especially from Nate so you might notice he's a little more fun than usual.
Joe brings us some info about the origins of the First Person Shooter, along with 3 of them that were MONSTERS of their time. Which 3 do you think those are?
Nate and Joe do not discuss the topic for these episodes in advance. The reactions you hear from us are our genuine reaction to the conversation in that exact moment.
