Did Prince of Swords live up to the hype after Arcana Academy Book 1 became an instant 5⭐️ read for me?

I finished Prince of Swords by Elise Kova, the second book in the Arcana Academy series, literally minutes before recording this episode and I have A LOT to say.

Book 1 gave me everything I love in romantasy: an addictive world, intriguing magic, compelling character dynamics, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to disappear into the story.

So the real question was: would book 2 live up to that experience?

My answer is complicated.

Arcana Academy doesn't have to be perfect for me to want more. I love the world, I love the characters, and Book 2 left me genuinely excited to see where Book 3 takes us.
