Seymour is gone. The stupid bugger is gone. He and part of his prison fell down into some hellhole in Inferno. I’ve not gone there to examine things. But I can say “what did I tell you” for the rest of my unnatural life. Elsa is gone too. At least in spirit. She has gone to the seaside “for her lungs” to wither away in some endless afternoon. But I have my new friends. I have rebelled against rebellion. I have my new friends. My new religion.

I never understood just how it started. I started to meet these people that enjoyed fucking and blood. Fine. They were not thinking about things like Seymour does. Donovan or Chandra the Dancer in mad Beirut were happy fucking and drinking blood without much thinking. Suited me fine. In the end I wanted to be like them. Because they were so obviously not of this world. I wanted to join them. And I did.
