Official Washington is known as The Swamp mostly because of the kind of people who are attracted to it. I have studied them closely over my nearly fifty years here, and it’s not for the faint of heart.

Even in a less unsavory population, one man would be a standout.  In the Swamp, though, he has been the gold standard for professional excellence, for integrity and for courage. 

His name, of course, is Charles Krauthammer. 

For decades, he’s been the ultimate TV pundit, a brilliant author and columnist revered for his ability to communicate lucidly, wittily and powerfully even the most complex of ideas, the most inside of political baseball, the most personal of subjects.

Charles has said his goodbye at the end of a life of immense pain and great grace.  Now, we must sorrowfully say ours.  Farewell, Dr. Krauthammer.
