We serve an all-powerful, ever-present, God who has never lost a battle and will never lose a battle. We may face the schemes of the devil and we may even feel like at times we are outnumbered and outmatched by the enemy. However, the truth is, if you are a child of God, you have a power dwelling on the inside of you that is greater than anything the enemy of our souls or this world can throw at us. The Lord is God of the hills and the valleys. God is stronger than the ups and downs. There is no opposition too great, no power to strong, no mountain too high, no valley too deep, that our God cannot and will not overcome for us!

Justified, Crucified, and Sanctified. These are some of the great truths and benefits of the Gospel. When we obey the Gospel, we are Justified. God declares us innocent before Him on the basis of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. But not only does God change our legal standing before Him, He also begins a transformation process within us as we are in a spiritual sense Crucified with Christ. The old person that we were before we came to Christ “dies” and we are raised into newness of life. And finally, that transformation process continues through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as we are being Sanctified. We learn to walk by the Spirit and not by our flesh. And all of these great truths and benefits are made possible simply by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. So we can say we are Justified by Faith, Crucified by Faith, and Sanctified by Faith.

On every day of the year, but especially on Father’s Day, we as Christians can show our love, submission, and dedication to our Heavenly Father by crying out  “Abba Father.” Through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, we have been granted the spirit of adoption and have become children of God. As children of God we have an eternal inheritance that will never fade away. It is the Holy Spirit inside of us that moves us to cry out “Abba Father” and to seek intimacy and obedience to our Heavenly Father.
