She had nothing but a small flask of oil in the house. The creditors were coming to take away all she had left, including her two sons. She was in a desperate place. But God sent the prophet Elisha her way to take her from empty to filled. God will do the same thing for you today. In what areas of your life do you need breakthrough and increase today? Out with the old and in with the new. We are continuing this week to think about The New Man and the Old. Last week we focused on The Need for Personal Holiness. This week we are going to take things a few steps further and look deeper into how we can ensure that we are presenting our lives to God as holy and acceptable in His sight. Have you every tried getting someone’s attention to no avail? Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try or how loud you get the other person is so absorbed in what they’re doing, they are completely oblivious to your attempts to get their attention? In our Scripture passage today, Absalom went to extreme measures to get the attention of Joab by setting his barley field on fire. Sometimes, we are completely oblivious to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and God has to go to extreme measures to get our attention. If He has to, God will set your field on fire!

What are you thankful for? What are some things that God has blessed you with in 2022? What about the difficulties? Have you faced some troubles and trials? Do you know the Bible says we are to be thankful for all things: the good and the bad? That God is working all things out for our good and His glory?
