  • The Bible Is Not the Problem: Scripture, the Spirit, and False Revelation
In this episode of From NAR to Christ, Dawn Hill responds to a teaching that claims the Bible is the problem and that Christians must hear God beyond the written Scriptures. Dawn explains that Scripture is not opposed to the Holy Spirit. The Spirit authored the Word, testifies of Christ, illuminates Scripture, and never contradicts what God has already revealed. This episode addresses the danger of extra-biblical revelation, the misuse of Matthew 4:4, claims of modern apostolic authority, and why Christians must rest in the sufficiency of God's Word. This episode encourages believers to test every teaching, every claimed revelation, and every spiritual experience by Scripture. • Prayer and Fasting: What Are They?
This sermon defines prayer as intimate communion with God and fasting as a humbling of the flesh, establishing both as essential acts of worship rather than rituals to manipulate divine favor or earn blessings. The speaker emphasizes that prayer is not about changing God's mind but aligning human will with His sovereign purpose, using the Lord's Prayer as a model for submission, confession, and dependence. Key themes include rejecting hypocritical displays, understanding the necessity of persistent supplication, and recognizing fasting as a discipline to deepen spiritual focus and reliance on God. The message encourages believers to approach God with humility and transparency, acknowledging their total need for His grace and strength in all circumstances. Ultimately, prayer is presented as a vital, continuous practice that fosters confidence in God's sovereignty and deepens the believer's relationship with the Father.

  • The Humble Exalted
Luk 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Luk 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. Luk 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

  • Iran: An Insider’s Perspective
Michael Germi is a former Muslim born in Iran into a Shia Muslim family. In this setting he learned to practice Islam praying 5 times a day toward Mecca. He fasted during Ramadan. He practiced self-mutilation for the cause of Allah. He migrated to Australia in 2006 and in 2009 placed his trust in Jesus Christ. He later moved to the States where he is a missionary with Baptist World Mission and now proclaims the Gospel to Islamic nations by satellite TV, satellite radio and internet radio. He has written several Farsi Christian books and desires to plant churches around the world where Persians are scattered. After 13 days of strikes, the United States has paused its military actions against Iran hoping for diplomacy to take place. The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Walz said yesterday that the President was "giving talks some space, he's giving a little bit of room." A senior official in the Trump administration said that the President "has always been clear that his preference is diplomacy, but he has shown Iran what will happen if they fail to come to the table in a serious way." Today Iran says it is still in control of the Strait of Hormuz and is not seeking to resume peace talks with the United States. As a matter of fact, a spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei said Iran has not asked to resume peace talks with the United States. Last week wng.org reported that "Iran's Ministry of Intelligence recently classified several Persian-language Christian satellite TV broadcasters as hostile organizations." Such Christian broadcasters were being banned alongside other groups such as Voice of America, BBC Persian and Israeli outlets. "Iran

  • 2026-07-26 Every Shot Has a Story
Every Shot Has a Story Faith Debate: Sunday, July 26th, 2026 (08/02/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) American kids receive more than 72 vaccine doses, including 37 doses by 18 months old. No other nation in the world follows a schedule this large or fast. Most parents haven't been told why the shots were added, what problems they were created to solve, or how they continue to influence health today. A book by Valerie Ferrell & Leah Wilson breaks open the history behind the entire childhood vaccine program. "The Vaccine Decision: Every Shot Has a Story" provides details (vaccine-by-vaccine & illness-by-illness) explaining when each shot was invented, what justification brought it onto the schedule, & why it remains there. The result is a clear, deeply researched narrative that helps parents understand not just the "what," but the "why." This edition of The Faith Debate features a part of Mrs. Ferrell's 90-minute presentation at Elk Neck Baptist Church in Cecil County, MD on March 24, 2026 – during which she outlines items that help folks navigate the medical morass as a biblically committed Christian. You can see the full uninterrupted video on the church's YouTube channel. This is part 3 of a 5-part series on The Faith Debate radio show & podcast. • Stay Awake
Stay awake, because you do not know when the master returns. Drawing on Jesus's parable of the doorkeeper in Mark 13, this sermon diagnoses the symptoms of spiritual sleepiness, the defensiveness, the unfeeling conscience, the drift from duty, and calls believers back to their post. What keeps the doorkeeper awake is not willpower but the certainty that the one who died for us will not forget us.

  • A New Heart for a New Faith
A NEW HEART FOR A NEW FAITH Luke 5:33-39; Hebrews 8:6-12 SUMMARY: In one of the more difficult parables to interpret, Jesus, in declaring the superiority of the new covenant over the old, seems to refer to the great divide between two systems, two groups of people, and two kinds of hearts. I. A DIVIDE BETWEEN THE NEW SYSTEM AND THE OLD. A. Old System: a dead external religion. B. New system: a spiritual relationship with God. C. The two systems: Incompatible. II. A DIVIDE BETWEEN FRIENDS AND ENEMIES OF THE BRIDEGROOM. A. The Pharisees. B. The Disciples of John. C. Jesus & His Disciples. III. A DIVIDE BETWEEN THE NEW HEART AND THE OLD HEART. A. A new mind & a new heart. B. A new understanding of God: C. A new freedom in Christ's forgiveness. KRETZMANN: "The piety of the Pharisees, the religion of works which they flaunted before the eyes of the people, on the one hand, and the doctrine of Jesus, the preaching of the free grace of God through His blood, on the other, will never agree. If one insists on wearing his old garment of self-righteousness and works, and then believes it possible to cover an occasional revealing sin with the Gospel, he will find but poor comfort. His heart is still bound up in the old garment, and he will only make the incongruity appear the more glaring. It is just as foolish to keep new wine, grape-juice in the early stage of fermentation, in old skins that have lost their elasticity. The result is disastrous: The skins burst, the wine is spilled. But new skins and new wine are perfectly suited to each other. The sweet Gospel of the forgiveness of sins by the mercy of God does not fit into carnal, Pharisaic hearts.
