Fat Pockets

Trumpet - @styrmonix

All other music and production - @fatpockets

Song story:

I posted this instrumental track some time ago:

https://soundcloud.com/fatpockets/mastrmind

My friend, Mike @christofferesen-weber, suggested a muted trumpet might be cool over it. I never really thought much of it until I stumbled onto A. Guy Called Styrmo, @styrmonix , through mutual collaborators. I remembered Mike's suggested and invited @styrmonix to collaborate. This is the end result.

Minty Fresh was an open collaboration that I posted. These three musicians added their magic to the original and released alternative versions of the song. I took pieces and parts from each and made this. Check out the original here:

I took an old dub track I created a year ago and reworked it. Then I offered it to Mercy to put her gorgeous voice on it. Then we passed a few ideas back and forth about the mix. Here is the end result. Hope you like it!!!

Guitars - Martin Reed @its-tophonicus

Mouth harp - Gyula Bódis @discratebye

Bass, keys, and beats - DMonroe @fatpockets

When I was a kid, I traveled to Florida to stay with my grandparents for a summer. My great grandmother, Mammy, lived in a cottage behind my grandparent's house. Every morning that I could, I would get up at 5am and walk down to the river at the end of the street and go fishing with her. She was a very feisty and funny lady. I remember it always thundered and rained a little every day in Florida, but it was hot rain. Often times Mammy would be up even earlier than me, frying chicken for our lunch. This is one of those childhood memories that I cherish, and this song was inspired by this memory. Big thanks to Martin Reed and Gyula Bódis for contributing to this humble offering.

Wou-Wou & The Worming posted an open collaboration project, called "Faux Fur" and made the different stems individually downloadable. What a sick ass concept!!!! I used all the parts and added some more. Then I handed it off to Robot Richard. He came up with these badass vocals. "We Are Relentless" is born.

Story behind this track:

Faerytale posted a cover of a song called Pretty Fly from the 1955 movie "The Night of the Hunter." She played cellos and sang on it: https://soundcloud.com/faerytale/pretty-fly-cover

I asked her if i could slice it up and use it. She so generously said "yes." I added bass and beat and a bit of keyboard skank. Then I passed it to Roots Dubman. He put the dubby vibes on it and launched it into space. After a couple more tweaks, I declared it badass.

Fairytale @faerytale - vocals, cellos

Roots Dubman @dubman-9 - dub effects

Fat Pockets @fatpockets - bass guitar, beats, keys, final production

Co-produced by all three of us.

Song story:

I stumbled onto a cover of Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" done gypsy style by Miranda Foxx and Frits. I asked if I could remix it. After many hours of trying to remix the whole thing, I ended up slicing out a few samples and building a new track. This is the result. Hope you like.

Miranda Foxx @mirandafoxx - Vocals

Frits @fingerstyle_guitar - Guitars

Mr. Reed gave me a killer acoustic guitar instrumental and asked me to remix it. I kinda ran with it, and the song turned into an epic thriller that was a blast to make. ***Headphones Strongly Suggested**
