The first of a five part exploration into what Christians believe as laid out so well by C.S. Lewis in a portion of his book, Mere Christianity.

In the previous episode I included a chapter in C.S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity titled Nice People or New Men in which Lewis put forward the notion that God’s primary objective isn’t primarily to make people “nice” but to make them something infinitely more grand, a new person altogether. Today’s episode follows up with Lewis clarifying what he means.

Literally and simply stated, a Christ-ian is a follower of Christ. He or she may not look like much when they first start following Jesus but, over time, they mature into an ever closer reflection of their Elder Brother and Lord. But only if they truly follow and do what Jesus tells them to do.

The last several episodes of FatherBound were a sharing of George MacDonald’s Salvation from Sin. I find myself indebted to MacDonald for his insight into God’s character, a witness to the soaring of his unfathomable love that billows to the heights of our imaginations through this wonderful sermon.
