25% of the Gospel of John is dedicated to the events of Holy Thursday. In the English Catholic tradition, the night is called Maundy Thursday from the Latin, Mandatum or Commandment. It refers to the New Commandment Jesus gave, "Love one another as I have loved you."

Lent means Springtime. As a  seed must work in the dark underground before it can blossom into a flower, so we labor through Lent so that we can blossom in Easter into the gift God has for us, as well as through us.
