Jesus said “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch” (Luke 5:4).
Today’s Gospel sounds like a good fishing story where Jesus is teaching His disciples how to fish. If we were to give it a title, we can call it: “Deep Fishing with Jesus” or “Jesus out-fishes the fishermen.” However, the purpose of this Gospel is not to show us how good a fisherman Jesus is or how to catch fish. Rather, Jesus leads us to the depths of blessings when we trust Him and allow Him to work in our lives....

On Monday, September 14, 2020 we celebrated our patronal feast day of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life Giving Cross and welcomed the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre.

 Somehow it is easier for us to find hundreds of faults in other people while we are often incapable of seeing any faults in what we say or do. That is why Jesus uses parables to teach. Most parables focus on the actions of others in order to help us look at our own actions more objectively.
