The words spoken are selections from obituaries of my family members who died in 2021. The background fight song was added to symbolize trying to cope with loss while preparing to transfer schools.

This is about having physical and mental illness in the dorms. The percussion you hear is a washing machine. It was common to hear this sound while in the hallways. Both the melody and rhyme pattern is simple and childlike, akin to the music of Daniel Johnston. I wrote this the week after moving off campus.

I had to commute an hour one way two or three times a week. It was usually for just a single class. The song is bitter, and I sing in a style similar to Tom Waits.
