When you think about trucking or the trucking DAD you picture someone that’s always on the road. At least that’s what I thought until I got to learn more from this week's guest Gerren Hoffman. Gee as we call him, is an owner/operator of a trucking company called Hoffman Transportation and tells us how a trucker gets busy as a father. He dropped gems on being a longshoreman to business owner but also why your VALUE matters more than anything when it comes to being that DAD.

This week we are starting off discussing new year resolutions but with a twist. I could never create a list of resolutions and resolutions shouldn’t feel like a "to do" list

So I do things a little bit differently here.

I only focus on one resolution a year and that is to work on becoming a better FATHER every day.

He kept it real from his battle for custody to building a brand that has people tattooing his company logo on them. Some do it for the gram, others leave a legacy. Times are changing! Staying at home to care for your kids and family used to be a motherly thing to do, but now dads are stepping up to the plate.  No matter the reason, maybe they are starting businesses from home as I did, dads are putting in work and are proud to do so. Check out how the Tamron Hall Show made me realize that society hates on us for being there but our families ultimately win!

I love going on CLASS TRIPS with my kids and found a father who loves it just as much as I do. Latif "Jet" Rivers of the famous Harlem Globetrotters came through and dropped some gems on why it matters to make time for your kids.

From touring the world with the Globetrotters to class trips, Latif showed us why #FatherhoodIsLit, especially with school trips!

Thanksgiving wasn't a big deal in my household, then I had kids. Without them, life wouldn't be the same. Because of them, I am able to be thankful on a day that really didn't matter.
