This was super hard to talk about this and I did out a trigger warning. My father and I used to have a good relationship, but once you are grown and if you have a parent that is an addict it becomes a challenging relationship. Basically, because it is like your eyes are finally wide open. It is hard to come to terms with the fact that your parent cares more about their addiction than they do you.
