On the LCHF podcast today where we’re talking all things low carb healthy fat and once again we head off to the United States where we’re joined by America’s angriest trainer, Vinnie Tortorich. Today’s question comes from Ricardo Almaeda and it starts off with a bit of a health issue but Ricardo is an ultra marathoner. He’s a big runner, 37 years of age. About seven years ago he had a fatty liver issue which led to surgery and removal of half of his liver. Since then he has started running.

He’s lost 30kg, which is close on 70 pounds, he’s pretty fit, he’s starting to adapt to a low carb healthy fat diet, purely for health purposes, but he’s kind of worried that the liver issue that he had in his past could become a bit of a problem. He says he’s two weeks into following a low carb healthy fat diet, he’s feeling fantastic, he’s performing fine as far as the running goes. Is he at any risk, should he follow along the same path or should he be wary?
