Tonight’s midweek service is a form of deliverance service; deliverance from all forms of curses because after we would have taken time to talk about curses and its devastating effect, we will pray them out of our lives.
Our objective of throwing up this very interesting, though controversial subject is for us know about curses and their effects on our lives, receive our freedom and begin to enjoy the blessings which salvation in Christ Jesus offers.
In our previous teachings, we have seen that every one that is into a covenant relationship with God through Jesus Christ is blessed (Ephesians 1:3).
You however need to make the choice to live a life of total obedience so you can enjoy the blessing (Deuteronomy 11:26-27).
In the scripture, curses are always discussed in relation to blessing and both are regarded as key biblical concepts.
In fact, Deuteronomy 27 and 28 present the covenant blessings and curses expressed in materialistic terms, but the point to note most importantly is that it is a blessing to be in relationship with God, while to be out of relationship with God is to be cursed.
A proper understanding of the causes of biblical curses is therefore as important as the basis of receiving blessing.
