As a christian the evidence of who we are and belong to should be noticeable by all people. In 1 Peter 2 we are being charged by Peter to Pursue the Holiness of God and this message deals with that pursuit as the People of God.

The word of God is a continual reminder of who we are in Christ, but it is also a reminder of who we are as the church and how we are to always be prepared by taking every opportunity to grow in our relationship with Him. Peter continues to remind the church of this in their Pursuit of the Holiness of God.

The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. As we look at 1 Peter, we see his charge to the church to live as strangers in this world, not conforming to its likeness, but to also live in Reverent Fear. This is critical in helping us in our Pursuit of the Holiness of God.

To be holy as Christ is Holy is not something we achieve or accomplish like getting to the top of a mountain,, it is a journey of Obedience that requires the believer to live the life according to the standards of Gods Holy Word and always striving to be more like Him. What a blessing it is to know that God wants me to experience a life of holiness.

God has called every believer to a life of holiness. Most christians think it is impossible to do that, but if God has commanded us to be Holy as He is Holy, then He will equip us to do that. It is truly a lifelong pursuit of a blessed life in the Lord. In this message, Peter is encouraging the church to lean upon their faith for motivation to Pursue Gods Holiness.

Its important to represent Christ well as a christian, thats why knowing our true identity as a follower of Jesus is so critical. The book of 1 Peter quickly reminds us of our place and encourages us to know that our relationship with Him solidifies our Identity in Him.

The pursuit of holiness should be the desire of every believer. This message is the start of a series of messages that will take us through the books of 1/2 Peter looking at the charge Peter is giving to the church to seek after God by living a holy life.

In todays message we will see Daniel remain committed to His Lord as a Faithful Servant even at the risk of losing his life.

The message today and the testimony of baptism will help us Understand the new identity that a life with Jesus brings and that we get to experience by being obedient to Him.
