We know that Jesus is coming back. So what do we do in the meantime? We must stay ready, and readiness is embodied in faithfulness. Luke 12:35-48 shows us why we need to stay ready and faithful. 

Jesus gives the crowd in Luke 12:13-34 a couple of warnings, the symptoms of the warnings, and the cures. What is satisfying you in this life? Who do you place your trust in? 

Can you claim with confidence today that you are a little Christ? Luke 12:1-12 poses four diagnostic questions about your life to help you answer this claim. 

The word “hypocrite” gets thrown around a lot, but what does it actually mean to be a hypocrite? There is a big difference between a struggling saint and a hypocritical heart. In Luke 11:37-54, Jesus announces six woes against the Pharisees and lawyers that show us how to be a hypocrite. 

Jesus does not have to prove anything to His critics or to you. Luke 11:29-36 highlights two truths for the critics and us about responding to Jesus.

When it comes to Jesus, you cannot remain neutral. Luke 11:14-28 emphasizes that you are either with Him or you are against Him. 

The Lord’s Prayer in Luke 11:1-13 highlights two things we have and two things we don’t have when it comes to prayer. 

The story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-42 shows us not only that we need to be a good neighbor, but also that knowing the Scriptures is not enough for eternal life; we must know the Author. Jesus doesn’t just welcome one type of person; He is accessible to all. 

The joy that is an offer from the Scriptures is a joy that is not affected by the circumstances of this world. The goods of this life can’t make that joy any sweater. The bad, painful, and scary of this life can’t take that joy away. Luke 10:17-24 shows where we can find the fullness of joy. 

As Christians, we have been called to mission. When God sends us, He doesn’t send us unprepared. Luke 10:1-16 highlights several “Lessons for the Sent” that were true for the 72 that Jesus sent and are still true for us.
