The Sheep and their Shepherd

MAIN IDEA

Jesus is the true Shepherd who knows His sheep personally, calls them by name, leads them faithfully, and protects them from those who would deceive or destroy them. His sheep recognize His voice, follow Him, and flee from strangers.

KEY VERSE

“The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.”—John 10:3

- He calls His sheep by _name_

- He _knows_ his sheep and still saves them – while they

were powerless and ungodly – He _saves_ them

- Shepherds _lead_ from the front. Butchers _drive_

- True believers _recognize_ and love the truth of the

gospel and will reject any deviation from it

- The sheep must _follow_ their shepherd
