In the beginning of chapter 2 we find the first warning in the book of Hebrews. While different translations phrase it differently, it can be summed up with the statement "Pay Close Attention."

The writer pleads with the readers to make sure they keep their focus on the message of Jesus Christ.

In this message, we will look at what challenged them, and also, what challenges us today in keeping our focus on Him.

We don’t just stand in need of help; we need a Savior.

If the believers at the time of Hebrews needed help only, the angels would have been fine. But more was required; they needed Jesus.

Seeking help is not wrong, it’s the opposite; it serves to aide us. But placing our complete hope in a source of help is hope misplaced.

We need a Savior, one who is the very source of both help and hope.

God calls us unto Himself. His Presence is our destination. He brings us out to bring us in.
