The Bible gives us instructions for anything that life could throw our way. However, it gives a great deal of information about money and how we should respond with it to God and people. It’s good to know that you can be messed up and still follow Jesus. Your story offers the same hope that David’s does but it is no good unless we share that story. Self examination is an essential competent to a healthy walk with Jesus. In Psalm 86, David examines his life as he quantifies his requests in his prayer with God. Do we take the time to carefully examine ourselves before we go to God in prayer? Do we realize the gravity of coming before a King to present requests and listen? Do we merely think about praying or do we set aside time to be with God? Life throws us good times, bad times, and everything in between. God’s Word does not stray away from any part of life. Throughout the Bible and often through the Psalms of David, we see these seasons highlighted. In fact, we get a big taste of the human condition in David’s Psalms to which we can all relate.
