We have arrived at the final message in our study of Nehemiah. Nonetheless, it is a fitting send-off for this incredible series. After a brief review, we open chapter 13 and see Nehemiah returning to Jerusalem to find the people failing to follow the Law. Sadly, the problem of persistent sin is a difficulty we face especially in today's world. Be encouraged as we take example from the passionate zeal of Nehemiah and realize the mercy of God in pursuing us even in our sin.

We've spoken of battles and strongholds and warfare and conquests, but today we come to a slightly different message from Joshua. It's easy to think that all of this effort in Canaan depended on the exertions of Joshua and the Israelite army. But Christ has won the victory for us; what an encouragement we can have when we become depressed or beaten down in the Christian walk.

It may not look like much to us when we see the last few verses of chapter 12 in Nehemiah, but the examples and faithfulness of both the Levites and the people is a powerful testimony. Be ready to examine your own heart as we look to learn the indicators of right worship that begins in the heart and culminates in corporate worship and even revival.

Well, our story doesn't actually have anything to do with D-Day or Normandy. We are looking in Joshua 10 at the REAL longest day. In this day and age of special effects and Hollywood trickery, it's easy to become jaded with the idea of miracles. Yet, it's hard to discount the awesome power of God as He interverned on Israel's behalf on this one-of-a-kind day in human history.
