There were many challenges that Joshua faced in his days of leading Israel yet along with the challenges God was constantly faithful and unchanging. How might these same factors encourage and exhort us in our Christian lives? Follow along with the PDF outline below as we examine chapters 3 and 5 of Joshua in this fourth message in our study of Joshua.

Luke 1:26-56... It's a very special passage. There are religious schools of thought in this day and age that place Mary on a pedestal and exalt her far above her place in Scripture. But there are indeed many things we can learn from her reponse to this great privilege. Her focus on God's blessing to her instead of thinking that she deserved this honor is a great example for us as we continue in our journey as believers.

As we examine both chapter 3 and chapter 4 of Nehemiah, we come to a time of testing for Nehemiah and the people who have given themselves over the great work of rebuilding. We see in ch. 3 the diverse effort from many different groups. Then in ch. 4 the enemy makes a stand and challenges the veracity of the task. Nehemiah refuses to back down and points the people to God, but he doesn't stop there. Listen and see why we call this message "A Sword and a Trowel."

It's oftentimes discouraging and disheartening to live as Christians in this world. We see so much sin, pain and hurt all around us and we wonder if God is really up to something good. Prepare to be encouraged and challenged in your walk with the Lord as we hear from one of our own. Michael Tankerlsey, Jr. recounts his tale of God getting his attention after finding out that freedom to do what you want is actually bondage to sin.
