في هذه الحلقة نستكشف كيف كان يتخيل البشر المستقبل قبل مئة عام وكيف تطورت توقعاتنا عنه، ونستعرض أعمال فنانين وكتَّاب من أوائل القرن العشرين، مثل رسام الكاريكاتير الفرنسي ألبير روبيدا ومجلة ""The Ladies' Home Journal"" الأميركية، الذين قدموا تصوراتهم للعالم سنة 2000، نتحدث أيضا عن كيف كانوا يتوقعون حياة الناس في ذلك الوقت، مع التركيز على استخدام التكنولوجيا وتغييرات في نمط الحياة كما تطرح الحلقة سؤالًا مهمًا: كيف تغيرت رؤيتنا للمستقبل مع تطور وفهمنا للتاريخ والزمن؟

في هذه الحلقة نستعرض قضية التنمية ودور المساعدات الدولية، في ضوء الأحداث الأخيرة إذ قرر الاتحاد الأوروبي تحت ضغوط سياسية تعليق مساعداته التنموية للفلسطينيين البالغة قيمتها 691 مليون يورو، كما نستعرض تاريخ المساعدات التنموية، بدءًا من القرن الـ19 عندما بدأت الدول الاستعمارية تقديمها لمستعمراتها، وكيف تطورت تلك الممارسات إلى أشكال معاصرة تخدم مصالح الدول المانحة سياسيًا واقتصاديًا.
