“The love you withhold is the pain that you carry.” - Alex Collier
The one fundamental thing we all need in life is love. The irony, however, is that the very thing we need—love—is often the thing we walk away from. Because we get scared. We’re afraid of pain and suffering so instead of walking towards love (and therefore towards ourselves), we walk away from ourselves. And then we wonder why we’re so often lost and confused: it’s because the very thing we need, we withhold from ourselves.
This is an invitation to walk towards yourself. To embrace your pain and your fear and alchemise them into love.
Now, more than ever, we are being required to do this. In an age of distraction, we are being pulled further and further away from ourselves and we’re suffering for it.
Turn towards yourself and come back home to love.
There you will find all you’ve been seeking because everything you’ve been looking for has always been right here.
The answers aren’t out there, they’re in here. Authority isn’t outside of yourself, it’s inside yourself.
We can support one another but it all has to come from within ourselves; much like a seed can’t be planted in thin air, it has to be placed deep into the soil in order for it to grow. We are no different.
Everything you resist is what you need to give attention to.
Everything you yearn for from the external, is what you need to give to yourself on the inside.
This is a firm yet loving invitation, to come back home to love.
With love,
