There’s no doubt about it, life can be tough! Resilience & strength of mind is everything.
It’s how we get through the tough times, it’s how we support our friends and family when they’re struggling and they need someone to lean on. It’s how we support our kids who are suffering with their own mental health issues in ever increasing numbers.
Honestly I’m alarmed at just how many parents I speak to every week that have teenagers and young adults who are seriously struggling.
With 14% of youth and 1 in 5 adults admitting mental health problems and the 18-25 age range seeing a drastic rise in suffering depressive symptoms this isn’t an issue that’s going to just disappear.
And what really blows my mind is that so many people still struggle to open up and talk about it.
They struggle to acknowledge their own thoughts and feelings, never mind fess up to others and get some support.
Why is this?
Usually because it’s easier to escape with alcohol, pills, food, and even fitness sometimes, to numb yourself and bury everything in the vague hope it will go away and your problems will magically disappear.
The thing is, life doesn’t work like that. At some point things catch up with you and you reach breaking point. I can tell you from experience that it’s often painful for all involved.
If you constantly feed your frustration, you’ll likely end up obese, at risk of diabetes, heart disease,
If you can’t sleep without pills, you’re not really sleeping as much as knocking yourself unconscious. You’re not allowing your body to follow it’s natural biological rhythm and this may impair performance and overall wellbeing. This also has a higher risk of diabetes and a propensity for obesity and metabolic disorders.
And I can tell you from experience that becoming dependent on drugs and alcohol never ends well.
But imagine what your life would be like if you had the skills and tools to build some badass bouncebackability.
Imagine if you had the mental and physical energy to not just cope, but actually thrive
Imagine if you had the self awareness to recognise your signs of stress quickly and easily calm yourself without numbing yourself with pills, food, drugs and alcohol.
Wouldn’t all that be totally freaking amazing?

You can’t have both!
See you can keep telling yourself that you can’t lose the weight, because you’re too busy to go to the gym, but you have to accept that if you continue to do so you will never get the results you want.
Let’s be honest we all want a banging body - whatever that means to us. We all want to spend more time doing the things we love, we all want to have our version of fulfilling relationships. We all want to make a difference.
So how can we consistently get results in all areas of our lives, even when life is trying to kick you up the ass?
To be a truly badass babe then you ultimately need to understand yourself, like on a biological level.
Knowing your SELF is an absolute game changer!!
Unfortunately I’m not eloquent enough to find the words to really emphasize this to you, but trust me, as much as you think you know yourself already, your DNA can’t lie. Once you harness the power of your biology you’ll be unstoppable!
How is it that some people always seem to get what they want while others are perpetually frustrated and going nowhere fast?
How many times have you wished for a more toned body, more energy, more time to connect with friends?
I’m guessing more times than you can count.
How many times in the last 12 months have you actually written down your goals?
Now let’s take this one step further…
How many times have you taken the time to write your goals and then look at them through the lens of your unique DNA?
This time I’m gonna guess never!
So you’re probably thinking, how the hell does that work then?
The answer is super simple. Getting to know yourself better, understanding your genes, your body and your mind through self awareness.
Let me break this down for you using the goal of having more energy for example. Let’s look at this from some different perspectives.
For some women feeling energised will strongly relate to weight and how their body feels.
that may look like losing some weight and feeling strong, as though your body is not ‘in the way’ or holding you back.
Or from feeling slim and healthy in a way that’s comfortable and fun.
For other women, energy comes from mental clarity, which may look like greater clarity and a sense of calm, logic and purpose.
Or it may come from being clear minded, improving efficiency and a sense of achievement.
And for other women their energy comes from a sense of doing.
It could be in the form of adventure, a challenge or from being spontaneous and living life to the fullest.
Or it could come from connecting with others, having fun and feeling free.
What happens when you set goals that aren’t aligned with your biology? That don’t excite you?
Well that’s when you end up feeling stuck and frustrated.
If you’re a person who naturally gets energy from feeling slim and healthy in a way that’s comfortable and fun, but someone told you that improving your efficiency will give you more energy, let’s keep it real, you'll be fighting a losing battle.
Your body and brain probably aren’t that motivated to be more efficient and logical. Your genes would rather be moving your body and doing something fun.
And of course the reverse is also true.
If you’re continually setting arbitrary goals, with no clear sense of who you are, and what your mind and body need to feel fabulous, you’ll be stuck in a cycle of failure and frustration.
If you’re going to reach your goals, they need to be exciting, they need to resonate with you, they need to be clear enough that you can harness the power of your DNA to be an unstoppable and totally badass babe!
