[00:00:37] Yes. For your fertility journey, it’s time to get fearless, baby fearlessly fertile. Let’s do this.
[00:00:45] Welcome to the
[00:00:46] Fearlessly Fertile Podcast, episode 277 from PCOS and Miscarriage to Miracle number two, Kara’s story. Hey, my loves. I’m so excited to be here with you [00:01:00] this week because. We have such a powerful testimony to share here with you and my beloved Cara.
[00:01:09] When we met, she was struggling with PCOS. She had had a recent miscarriage and she was in a really dark place. She was starting to doubt whether she would complete her family, and a neighbor suggested that she start listening to the Fearlessly Fertile Podcast. Imagine that. It just blows my mind, like whenever I hear like.
[00:01:29] How people find this podcast and how it starts to change their lives. I mean, it’s extraordinarily humbling. And Kara was hooked, and what happened after that was she began down an entirely new path to baby making success. You are going to hear how within a matter of months, Kara went from being in that dark place, being in struggle, worried about whether or not she was ever going to have this next baby to getting and [00:02:00] staying pregnant.
[00:02:01] And that was within months of completing my fearlessly fertile, full throttle program. Now, it’s really important that we take a moment here because I know that some will listen to this and and be like, well, she already had a baby. Okay? Or like, there’s a saboteur in you that’s gonna say, well, of course she had another baby.
[00:02:21] ’cause she already had one. This is exactly why you need to be listening and listening carefully to this episode because I want you to understand a mother’s pain is real. I don’t care if you are still calling in baby number one or if you’re struggling with baby number two, baby number three or beyond, when your family is not complete, that pain is real and it is very easy.
[00:02:48] For stories where a woman has a child already to, to kind of blow that off. But this is exactly why you have to do the opposite. The judgments we hold of other people and [00:03:00] their suffering is a reflection of the judgments we have of ourselves. Now. Even if you were just gonna listen and be inspired, I mean like, like that’s great.
[00:03:08] That’s great. I love it. But if there is any tiny. Voice in you saying, well, of course she was a success story ’cause she already had a baby. You wanna check yourself before you wreck yourself, because sitting and listening to the lessons that this kind and generous woman is sharing has the ability to change the way that you look at yourself, the judgments you hold, and the way that you live your journey.
[00:03:36] Are all connected and our stories are all different, but when we feel the pain of our family not being complete, it doesn’t matter how many babies somebody already has. So I’m just speaking to that because I know that that creeps up because I’m gonna be honest, like if I heard that. You know, back in the day when my mindset was not disciplined, when I was letting [00:04:00] fear, doubt, and negativity run my life, that would’ve been the first place I went.
[00:04:03] And one of the wisest and most kind things that you can do for yourself to begin getting yourself out of the shit pit if you happen to be in it today, is to recognize the judgements you have of other people. Because we may have one finger pointing at somebody else, but we got three fingers pointing right back at us.
[00:04:24] Okay? So I say that with love. I say that to honor any woman who is struggling to have a second baby or beyond, because when the family is not complete, that pain is real. So enough said on that. I hope that you take every lesson that Kara is sharing here today and find a way to apply it to your own journey.
[00:04:45] My ladies are so kind, so generous, and we are so grateful for every single one of them that comes on. So here is my conversation with the amazing, glorious, and incredibly [00:05:00] beautiful Kara. Okay, Kara. I gotta ask you the question I always love to ask when we start this podcast. Can you believe we’re having this conversation?
[00:05:12] I can believe it. And I wrote it in my journal about a year ago that I wanted to be on the podcast. Um, so yes, definitely I knew it was gonna happen.
[00:05:22] Oh my goodness. Okay. So tell me about that, because, you know, I hear this so often from women that they’ll write it down, they’ll put it on, uh, a vision board, like, you know, tell me what, like, how did that happen for you?
[00:05:36] Yeah, I mean one of the, um, you know, projects or activities or whatever you wanna call it that, um, you gave us was, you know, kind of write what’s gonna happen. And so there were a lot of times where I would say, you know, in a certain couple weeks, I’m gonna test positive and then I’m gonna let you know right away.
[00:05:53] I think I’ll let you know, like five minutes after we, I’ve been tested. Um, but no, I, I wrote it [00:06:00] down that I was going to be on the podcast. I didn’t know when, but when I got. Um, your message a couple weeks ago, you know, am I gonna be on it? I was so excited. Um, but yeah, no, it’s definitely written in my journal, um, that I will be one of your ladies.
[00:06:14] I’ll be on here, be able to listen and share with others.
[00:06:18] Oh my goodness. I mean, that just makes my heart sing when I think about that because, you know, Kara, it’s so humbling. Like when I think about all of you, all of you who have been on the podcast, who have come through the programs like it, it’s just, it’s incredible to me to be witnessed to all of you living the dream.
[00:06:39] Like you came like, I mean that’s, and that’s. Amazing to me. Like you’re women of integrity. You made a decision that you are gonna beat the odds and you ultimately do because you kept your word to yourself. It’s, it’s just incredible. So why don’t you start us off, I mean like, [00:07:00] now that we’ve asked that question that I’d love to ask, why don’t you start by sharing with the ladies, listening a little bit about how you found yourself on this journey, and then how we met.
[00:07:11] Yeah.
[00:07:12] So, yeah, so back, I guess before we met, so back 2020, um, I was able to conceive my first daughter naturally. Um, so we had been trying for about a year. My cycles were pretty all over the place. Um, you know, doctors diagnosed with PCOS. So at that point, um, I wasn’t really ready to go down the fertility journey yet.
[00:07:34] Um, I figured. We’re just starting. It’s only been, you know, at that point, a couple months. Um, so I did adjust diet. I lost about 30 pounds. Low carb, low sugar, kind of readjusted everything just to go the more natural route at first. Um. A doctor OB did put me on Metformin. Uh, I don’t know if it was that or the, you know, the healthy eating and the working out and stuff like that.
[00:07:59] Um, so I was [00:08:00] able to conceive naturally. My daughter, um, had her in December, so the whole pregnancy was, was COVID, you know, it was so much fun with that. Um, so I had her and then, you know, I was nursing for about nine, 10 months. Soon as I stepped that, um, you know, my cycle started to come back. After three cycles, I ended up getting pregnant again.
[00:08:22] Um, we did lose that baby, uh, miscarriage. I had A-A-D-N-C, um, at that point. You know, I, I don’t think we were really trying, we were just kind of like, cycles are coming back. Let’s see how life’s gonna go with a 1-year-old at that point. Um. But of course, you know, once you realize that your body won’t let you, or you know, there’s a stall, that’s all you can think of, like the main thing in our life.
[00:08:48] Um, so I tried getting on back on the Metformin, just thinking that the magic drug, which was not magic, was gonna work this time. It didn’t. Um, so about, I don’t know, 10, 11 months [00:09:00] later, my OB recommended us to a local fertility clinic. Um, so we went there, they did a workup on. Both my husband and I, um, he actually started a vitamin, just kind of got some things a little healthier.
[00:09:15] Um, but at that point it had been a year since, um, you know, we lost the baby. I was really in a dark place, kind of everything was negative mindset. Um, so one of my neighbors actually was listening to your podcast at the time, and she was realizing that, um, yeah, everything that was coming outta my mouth was.
[00:09:36] You know, not excited to keep trying. It was kind of like PO focusing on the past, the negatives, um, stuff like that. So she sent me a couple links. I was hooked. You know, I think I listened to the first like, you know, 30 episodes in the first like month or whatever. Um, so that was like March 1st, 2023. Um, and then by April 1st, [00:10:00] um, I joined the full throttle, so the fearlessly for the 90 days.
[00:10:04] Um, so that was when I started, you know, every, every day for 90 days, 15, 30 minutes a day. We’re kind of spent listening to each, uh, recording, journaling, kind of doing whatever the daily, um, habits were. And so that’s kind of how I found, found you. Um, and then we went on to a couple iis last summer. Um, I remember the second IUI posted in the Telegram group, you know, excited, nervous that I was going in for it.
[00:10:35] Um, but I remember you sent like a voice message just kind of saying. You know, kind of go into it in a place of knowing, don’t put too much pressure on this one. You know, when it works you’re gonna have 40 weeks of pressure. So just kind of be in the mindset of that. Um, and then do something for yourself afterwards.
[00:10:53] I remember we went to the zoo at that point, you know, it was, I was all into, you know, [00:11:00] seeing life, being out there, flowers being all, you know, it was like abundance of life and flowers and stuff. And I remember. At the zoo, they had a bunch of baby lions, and I remember how cute I thought it was. I was like, this is the universe telling me, you know, there is life happening and stuff like that.
[00:11:18] Um, so that one did work, but it was fine. Um, so then we had a third IUI, it switched to IVF mid-cycle. Um, we did get pregnant in um, November, and so I am. Um, 26 weeks today. I’m so letting the cat outta the back. But, um, so yeah. But yeah, no, I think, um, you know, I think as soon as we did get that positive pregnancy test in November, um, all the stuff that you’ve been helping, you know, me and the different ladies with you, you need that when you get the positive.
[00:11:54] It’s not like you always say like, things don’t just magically turn over and then. Everything’s [00:12:00] fixed. You know, it’s almost like a whole new set of worries and stress. Um, you know, every time I would feel myself getting excited or telling people or thinking about the future, you would immediately, I would get that just saboteur or kind of fear in my head of don’t let yourself get too excited because, you know, something could happen.
[00:12:23] Um, so I asked, um, I started reading the book. Um, about after getting pregnant. And then one of the main things that I think really has helped me from that book is kind of like the pre-scan ritual type thing that you had talked about with like a ball of pink light around
[00:12:41] you. Oh, you mean
[00:12:41] like fearless?
[00:12:43] Oh, you mean the Fearless Pregnancy book? Okay. I wasn’t sure if you were talking about my book
[00:12:47] or something else. Okay. So that book, so what, what It was helpful because it was definitely like, I think you realized, you know, once, obviously, like I said, once someone gets pregnant, some people think that it’s magically going to be this, [00:13:00] this fairytale of everything.
[00:13:01] But then it’s like all these new stresses come. So every time I went to the appointments, every time something, you know, maybe you didn’t feel pregnant at the time. Um, I was just always. Picturing that ball of pink light, it was just me, the baby Gus kind of, it’s just all of us, what we’re doing. And that always helped me get through the appointments.
[00:13:21] Um, I think my husband, you know, kind of looked at me like, what are you doing over there? But I’m like, I just need a minute. I need to calm down. Um, but, but yeah, so,
[00:13:30] wow. That’s incredible, Kara. So, okay, so let’s back up the bus a little bit because you were dropping so many bombs there, like with, with all of this.
[00:13:40] Goodness. So you basically went from listening to this crazy lady on a podcast that your neighbor recommended to doing this program. Like I, I’m super curious and I’m always curious about this because. In a highly medicalized society, the [00:14:00] first thing we go to is medicine, treatments, all that other stuff, which is fine, like it’s a, it’s a wonderful tool.
[00:14:08] But I’m curious about what made you want. To look into this mindset thing because it could have been super easy for you to just say, you know what? I don’t need to listen to any of that. I’m just gonna take my Metformin, which didn’t end up working for you, but like, you know, and I’m gonna do all this treatment stuff.
[00:14:27] Like why did you make the 90 day commitment to yourself? Because that’s ultimately what
[00:14:33] you did in full role. Yeah. I mean, I think at the same time, like I said, I had done. The low carb, the low sugar with, um, with my daughter and I, I always felt like that was a lot of it too. Um, so that had something to do with it.
[00:14:47] I, I didn’t necessarily wanna just put more drugs in my body, um, without trying different things. And I knew that my body definitely reacts to stress. Definitely reacts to if [00:15:00] I am negative about something or if I worry about something, I can feel things going on that I know kind of just. Stop what’s going on.
[00:15:08] And so, um, instead of just kind of letting, you know, letting a doctor say, let’s just put you on these 14 meds, which I ended up doing. Um, but you know, it was just kind of another opportunity. And I felt like being a new mom, being in a different, I guess, mindset, um, and that that didn’t necessarily. Only do it for the second pregnancy.
[00:15:31] I wanted a better mindset to be the mom for my daughter as well. You know, there were a lot of things in the 90 day program that had nothing to do with getting pregnant. It had something to do with, you know, letting things go, focusing on the positive. Um, you know, I think a big thing was that things didn’t necessarily.
[00:15:53] You know, I was always like, oh, it happened to us, or it happened, you know, negatively. But it, you know, rethinking that [00:16:00] things happen for us now and, and you know, kind of that kind of mindset switch. Um, but yeah, no, I think it’s definitely helped with obviously getting pregnant, but then also, like I said, being a better wife, mother kind of friend, just person not being so, so, you know.
[00:16:21] I don’t know what the, what the best word is, but anxious and stressed and stuff like that.
[00:16:26] Were you nervous when you started that? Because that’s kind of a leap lady, it’s a kind of a leap to go from podcast to like a 90 day commitment. Mm-hmm. Like what was the thing that really pushed you over that line?
[00:16:39] Because, I mean, had you ever invested in yourself
[00:16:42] in that before? Not, um, I dunno. I think, I think it was just. Feeling like, almost like rock bottom, like, you know, I felt like the podcasts were definitely aligning a lot of the women that were talking and, and some of the things that you were saying was exactly what I was feeling.[00:17:00]
[00:17:00] Um, I was definitely stressed. I remember, um, even like pressing the submit button when, you know, signing up. I was like, oh my God, am I doing, am I doing, you know, and it’s like, it’s not a big deal in, in the big scheme of things, but it’s still like you’re making a big decision and stuff like that. Um, you know, I had, I had done, like, I listened to the podcast, I think you had a workshop where it was like a two night workshop that I attended.
[00:17:25] Um, and I think that’s when I heard about the 90 day program. Um, and I had, I know you always ask ladies like, you know, or don’t, don’t ask permission to do it. Just, you know, do it with, uh, if you wanna do it. And, um, I remember talking to my husband about it. And yeah, he was like, if you, if you wanna do it, you’re gonna do it.
[00:17:43] You know, it’s, it’s something that is gonna help you and push you forward. And he actually, during it, um, you know, I was talking to him last week when preparing for this, and he was like, you totally changed. You totally changed into, um, a better version of yourself. And when I [00:18:00] finished the 90 days, you know, he could tell that I was slowly.
[00:18:03] Slipping back and he encouraged me to do it again. You know, kind of redo it all with a different mindset. Um, so no, he was totally on board. Um, I think there was one day something happened and he mentioned that. He was like, oh, maybe that was Gus. And I thought at that moment it was so sweet. That, um, you know, it was kind of like trickling into him.
[00:18:24] Oh my gosh, Kara, that’s hilarious. So like, the husbands are all like, this is, I think what I love about what you’re sharing here is two things. Number one, so many of us shrink back ’cause we say, oh, you know, I need to talk to my husband about this. And it’s like, you’re a grown ass woman and your husband already believes in you.
[00:18:45] Like, and he basically told you, you’re already gonna do, you know what you, you know us. You know, like why are Yeah, exactly. So like, why would you shrink back from your own authority as a woman who [00:19:00] trusts herself? And maybe that was part of it is learning to trust yourself at some level, you know? And I think the other part of this, which is interesting is that.
[00:19:10] The husbands tend to start off a little skeptical, but when they start seeing the change, they’re like, boom.
[00:19:16] Yeah. If they get to deal with us in a more happy, happy mindset than, uh, than our, our other selves. Um, but yeah, no, he was always, um, yeah, very supportive of it. Um, I think he would. You know, after a couple of our, um, group sessions, you know, he would ask me how it went.
[00:19:36] Um, you know, and of course there’s things that you’re like, uh, we’ll talk about it after I digest it a little bit. Um, but, but there were definitely things, you know, in the, like I said, in the group calls and in some of the, um, 90 day. Um, information that was, that was more about, you know, fixing relationships or fixing whatever is causing some of these issues that’s blocking, getting [00:20:00] pregnant.
[00:20:00] And a lot of it I think, was conversations between me and him and things about controlling and stuff. So I think it, it was more than just fertility. It was like, not marriage counseling, but it was definitely helpful of having and figuring out how to have those conversations.
[00:20:18] Yeah, and you’re so right. You know, that’s such a critical part of all of this is like the way we do one thing is the way we do everything.
[00:20:25] You know, and we have patterns and if we hold onto certain patterns in our work, in our relationships mm-hmm. With our families, you know it, you know, people think, oh well that doesn’t have anything to do with fertility. And it’s like, well actually yes, because if you are blocking receiving what it is that you desire from your partner at work, things like that, do you think you’re not doing that everywhere?
[00:20:48] Yeah. Yeah. And I definitely saw, you know, once we started actively. Trying. We met with the fertility clinic. It was like everything in my life revolved around, um, you know, [00:21:00] trying to conceive and that’s not what I wanted. You know, we weren’t able to enjoy ourselves, enjoy our time with our daughter who was here with us, you know, probably.
[00:21:09] You know, if you think about that year of her life, um, obviously I was there, we were doing stuff, um, but you look back and you’re like, wow. Like I was so just focused on, okay, I’m gonna test in a couple days, or this is when this next thing is gonna start. Or, you know, what did the fertility clinic say? So it’s definitely a lot of things in the head that, um, that just needed to be settled down.
[00:21:34] Wow. You know, that’s another really interesting point that you’re raising, Kara, because for when a woman struggles to have a second or third baby or beyond, I think we forget that if we don’t have our head on straight, we’re not actually present with the children that we have. Like, nobody wants to think about that, but I think it’s, you are raising a very important [00:22:00] point because you don’t get that time back.
[00:22:02] So you get to choose how you’re showing up.
[00:22:05] Yep. Yeah, and she was, you know, at that point, she’s two, three years old and you know, she just has no idea. She just wants me and wants my attention and I think there was a lot of, you know. Whether I was listening to your podcast in, in my headset while I’m watching her or, you know, getting frustrated because she’s not going down for bed because I just wanna read the book or listen to more podcasts.
[00:22:29] Um, so it was just kind of definitely getting the, uh, um, you know, middle road for that. Um, but yeah, no, there was a lot of things that I was realizing and like, kind of back to your question. Why I joined was because I was noticing kind of like the spiral effect of if I keep down this road, you know, I’m gonna be spending less time focusing on her and spending less time with my husband and, and stuff like that.
[00:22:55] Wow. So, okay, so you, you were diagnosed with [00:23:00] PCOS and then, so you guys had done a couple rounds of
[00:23:05] mm-hmm.
[00:23:05] IUI. And then one of those turned into IV is correct?
[00:23:09] Yeah, so they Correct. They had switched, um, one of my meds into like an injectable form. So before it was just taking a pill certain days of the month.
[00:23:19] Um, and at that point I think I had grew like, I don’t know, 20, 30 follicles and they were like, we cannot do an IUI, we don’t need like 60 babies. I was like, well, I’ll take any. Um, but yeah, so we switched over mid cycle. Um, yeah, we did a retrieval. Then just kind of let the body relax a little bit. We didn’t just, um, do the transfer right away.
[00:23:43] Um, but yeah, I think at that point we were still deciding, you know, and that was one of the things I also struggled with. I think in, in a lot of the, um, you know, a lot of your ladies do conceive naturally, and I think in my mind I was still kind of fighting. [00:24:00] IVF is IUI, you know, or natural. And I was kind of like, if everyone else can do natural, then I should be able to do it.
[00:24:08] But then I was also on another side of it, as you know, I was trying to receive and accept help. Um, so I think at that point it was kind of like, you know, I could do natural again. I know I did it with my daughter. I know my body, you know, eventually can do it. Um. But I, there was one, one session where it was just kind of like, let people help you, like, you know, accept the help, accept people, you know, whether that’s the doctors, whether that’s, you know, different, um, squad people in the community.
[00:24:44] Um, but just kind of let people in, let people experience this with you. Um, and that was when I was like, you know, it’s, I don’t know why I’m fighting this. You know, we’re kind of on the path. Um, the doctors, the nurses were great. Everyone was supportive. Um, [00:25:00] but yeah, that was a big thing for me too, of deciding do I, do I really push for this natural or do I push for, for IVF?
[00:25:09] Mm. You know, it’s so funny ’cause that’s what we do to ourselves, right? Like we, we kind of get into this really locked up place where we’re not making decisions from possibility. It’s Right. Well, if other people comparing other people, why can’t I?
[00:25:23] Mm-hmm.
[00:25:24] And it’s, yeah, you’re exactly right. It’s all about comparison.
[00:25:27] And when you’re in that place of comparison, you’re not in your clarity. Mm-hmm. You’re not in your power. You are allowing what other people are doing to have authority over you instead of you deciding, hey, you know what, for where my husband and I are at,
[00:25:40] right? Mm-hmm. This actually
[00:25:41] feels good to me.
[00:25:42] Yep.
[00:25:43] So I remember that being, that being, I think on one of our calls. Um, I think that was, I think one of my questions of, you know, how do I decide. Which way to go. If I feel like, like you said, I, I shouldn’t be comparing myself to others. This is our [00:26:00] situation and that’s one of the things that I do. You know, I do like the affirmations or just kind of talk to myself throughout the day, every day still.
[00:26:08] And I just tell myself, you know, even if I. Other people, you know, chose different options. Even if other people have trouble with their pregnancies, you know, you know, possibly like I, you know, miscarried, that has nothing to do with this pregnancy. You know, I keep telling myself it’s like, it’s all about me, is not like, it’s just a whole different mindset of comparing yourself verse, you know, like, it has nothing, nothing to do with, with you.
[00:26:34] You know, you see stories online, you see people that. Issues. And they’re like, what if that happens to me? And you compare yourself, like you were just saying, and it’s not worth it.
[00:26:45] You’re making mama
[00:26:46] proud,
[00:26:47] Kara,
[00:26:47] you’re making a really great, I read all of my notes and I, I was taking some notes on, um, you know, things that I remember that kind of hit home and I’m like two pages in it and I’m like, well, I can’t just read off bullet points on this, on this [00:27:00] podcast.
[00:27:00] But there were so many things that I feel like that have just changed, you know, changed me in just a year.
[00:27:07] You know, and that’s actually a really interesting point was that, you know, if you look it exactly, we’re basically a year from when you started.
[00:27:18] Yeah, yeah. All, all it took
[00:27:21] and, and well, and in the first 90 days you’re just learning this material.
[00:27:24] Yeah. And like you started applying it, you started living it, you’re talking to yourself, you’re doing all kinds of things that your, your husband’s probably like, you know. But look at, you know, and people think I’m messing around when I say I work with women who are committed to getting and staying pregnant in the next 12 months.
[00:27:43] And you are living proof again. Mm-hmm. That, that is possible.
[00:27:49] Yeah. Yep. Yeah, I know it was, yeah. ’cause the 90 days started April 1st, um, and yeah, it’s end of April, so
[00:27:59] [00:28:00] Yeah. And you’re 26 weeks pregnant. I mean, this is it. It’s just extraordinary. So what are some of the things that you think. Are going to impact you the most moving forward.
[00:28:13] Like you, you use certain tools mm-hmm. To help you get into that place where you could receive, where you stopped comparing yourself. You stopped being a fricking negative Nancy in your neighborhood. Right. And you, and you stopped using the past against yourself, and you were able to move forward from a heartbreak of miscarriage.
[00:28:32] What do you th how do you think this is gonna serve you moving
[00:28:35] forward? Yeah, um, I think one of the, one of the sessions talked about, you know, kind of letting go of the past, writing letters, not necessarily giving them to people. Um, but I did hold on to a lot of, a lot of things that even, you know, from my childhood, um, through now.
[00:28:54] Whether it had with fertility or anything else. Um, you know, I think I was [00:29:00] always just holding a grudge or holding onto that. Um, so I think that definitely helped. Even now, you know, if something bothers me, just think, does this really affect me? Is it really going to make a difference in a week or a year, or anything like that?
[00:29:15] So, um, thinking about it like that. I think the control that I talked about, a big thing of, of wanting to be in control. Yeah. Especially when you have kids. You
[00:29:27] little
[00:29:28] controlling Kara, you little. I always tell my husband that he’s controlling and he’s like, you realize we’re both controlling in like different ways, so, which makes it even harder.
[00:29:35] Um, and then my daughter of course gets it from both of us, I think. But you know, when she was one or two, you know, controlling naps and controlling, you know, we’ve got to go to this thing at a certain time, um, that would just stress me out and it would kind of turn into a whole spiraling thing. So. You know, and like you said, it, everything rolls over into itself.
[00:29:58] So controlling of, [00:30:00] of personal aspects and work and infertility. Um, so I think that’s been a big thing that I’ll, I’ll be able to continue working on. Um, I. And then I think one of the other things that I didn’t mention was in the, some of your podcasts, you talk about statistics, um, and doctor, you know, you go to the doctor and you find your results, and then everyone’s so fixated on results.
[00:30:24] Um, that was a big thing for me too, is, you know, you get blood work done. And you immediately start looking in the app and you’re like, okay. You know, freaking out. And then you Google it and compare it to everyone else. Um, and so there were a lot of times these, this last year during the iis and the IVFs were, you know, it would be not necessarily great news, um, but I would just be like, who cares?
[00:30:48] You know, like it’s just a number. It’s not necessarily like this is what it’s gonna be the next, you know, how many cycles we’re gonna be doing. Um, but I think that too is a big thing of getting away [00:31:00] from that. Um. Doctor numbers, mindset, and just kind of believing that, you know, this isn’t permanent.
[00:31:09] Things can change each cycle.
[00:31:14] I know a couple more things
[00:31:16] we need to repeat. Yeah, we, we need to repeat that like multiple times because people, it, it, and this seems to be kind of an interesting theme in our conversation, is all about authority. Right, like think about, I mean, just think about who you’ve become because it would’ve been really easy for you to beat yourself up saying, well, I have a daughter.
[00:31:35] I’m being greedy. All of this other crap that I think we hear also a lot of this weird cannibalism, you know, within the fertility community where they say, oh, well if you’re, you know, just be happy you have one, but you were so. Dialed into your desire and you had really clear ideas in your heart that another child [00:32:00] was meant for you, that you like blew past all of that insanity, and then were able to take control of your thought process even when it came to statistics and numbers.
[00:32:11] I mean, that’s mixed.
[00:32:12] Yes, and both my, uh. Husband and I are only children. Um, so we both knew we didn’t, we, we wanted to have, um, you know, at least one sibling for our daughter. Um, so yeah, it was never a question of if it was, when is this gonna happen, which is out of our control. Um, and you know how, which is also out of our control, but it was just not, it was never a, if so.
[00:32:37] Wow. That’s incredible. Well, so if you were going to share with the ladies listening, because I mean, millions of women are gonna listen to this and Yeah, right. No pressure. Um, but yeah. Yeah. But if you were gonna say like, look, ’cause that’s the way I like to interact with people. If I only have one interaction with people, what would I want it to be?
[00:32:57] What is the truth that I would wanna tell that [00:33:00] hopefully at some level they would take in, because you’re sitting on the other side of this journey now, era. You beat the odds. You were you, you found a way to apply, which you’re learning, and now you’re 26 weeks pregnant. So what are a few things that you would love for the women listening to really take to heart
[00:33:20] from your experience?
[00:33:21] Yeah, I think, and some of these things we’ve already touched on, but you know, the fact that so many of these things bleed into other parts of our life. So whether it’s work, stress, home stress, you know, trying for a baby. Um, everything is, is interconnected. Um, again, with the control, um, you know, I always wanted to be in control of fertility, you know, kind of looking, okay, if we get pregnant this month, I will have the baby this month.
[00:33:49] And then this is how, you know, this is, we’ll be able to dress the baby and at, you know, and Christmas and this, it’s like that has, you know, it’s just so out of control and so crazy to even put into, you know, [00:34:00] um, so, you know, kind of that mindset switch of. I know the baby is coming. Um, you know, the baby will find us when the baby is ready.
[00:34:09] Um, I think there was a couple sessions where, you know, it was, you know, do some things to stand out to let the baby know you’re ready. So we would, um, you know, didn’t necessarily put like a nursery together. Um, but I bought a couple new outfits, a couple items, you know, when we were doing, um. Just different like meditations and thinking stuff like that.
[00:34:32] For some reason I always was thinking like a nautical theme for the baby. Um, but that was more a baby boy. Um, it’s a, it’s a girl. Um, so I, I have like, uh, a sailboat in one of the rooms still that I would always walk by and see. Um, when I was looking at my journals, I had drew some sailboats. Um, so just kind of switching that mindset of, no, we are ready for you, baby, whenever you are ready for us.
[00:34:59] [00:35:00] Um, and then again, just the other thing of having that positive mindset of things happening for us instead of against us. Um, you know, put that energy into. Opening yourself up for this baby to come find you. And I think if I would’ve heard myself say that like a year or two ago, I would’ve been like, what is this girl talking about?
[00:35:19] Um, but I mean, it’s so true. Like there’s so many things that, you know, it’s, it’s crazy. All the negative negativity and stress that you’re putting out, it’s no wonder that your body or your baby is like, I think I’m gonna hold back and, and wait a little bit until this, you know, woman gets it under control.
[00:35:35] But, so that would be what I’d say.
[00:35:38] Oh my goodness, Carol. Well, you know, I, it’s such a delight to have this time with you and really see how far you have come because so many people will choose to hold onto their negativity as opposed to doing the work to be in a place where they can achieve the things that they wanna achieve.
[00:35:57] I mean, because now like. [00:36:00] You’ve called into babies now, everything else, Kara, is a piece of cake. Go start a business, go get another degree, whatever it is that you wanna do, because it’s you’re, you’re proving to yourself. And I mean, it’s heartbreaking that we have to prove it, but sometimes that’s like part of our life’s, you know, situation where we have to remember that we have the power and we need reminders like this to come into our lives to say, yeah, when I put my mind to something, I can absolutely do it.
[00:36:29] So you know what you’ve shared here. Is such gold. It’s so generous, it’s so kind. And just know that you are touching other women’s lives by sharing your experience and and showing them that they can do it too. So thank you so much for sharing your story with us and I can’t wait to see pictures of the baby in the Telegram group.
[00:36:53] And so thank you so much Womans. Thank you. I appreciate it. OMG loves. Can you see why I love my ladies so [00:37:00] much? Dude. Can you see how she was able to summon the courage to do something different to follow her heart?
[00:37:19] She knew that. Her mindset needed attention. She knew that she had done all the things she needed to be different, and she took the leap. She was afraid at first, but she took the leap and boom. Within months of completing the Fearlessly Fertile Full Throttle program.
