Hey, hey! I've missed you sister. I intentionally took a one month break from DOING (or perhaps I should say, I tried my hardest to take a break) and it felt GOOD.

In this episode I catch you up to speed with everything that's been happening around here since we last chatted. I share all about the Fearlessly You Experience and what an amazing day that was for myself and everyone in the room. I am so grateful to every lady (and dude) that supported me along the way - we're never in this alone!

I also venture back in time a bit and recap the answer to a question I was asked recently, "What's your career path?" Eek. That's always a loaded question, but holy moly does it give you some perspective.

We speak about identity shifts and doing what it is you actually WANT to be doing! Crazy concept, right? There is time and space to do what makes us happy!? Yes! Yes sister, we can.

This is a brave conversation with Anna Warner-Mayes. In this episode Anna shares her beautiful story and reminds us to keep believing and never loose faith.

Anna is a graduate of Western Michigan University. Originally a music theater major she graduated with a degree in science and has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years. After being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, she decided to fulfill one of her dreams and start her own lipstick company, The Lipstick Journey. Cancer has been part of her story for over 10 years, first diagnosed in 2008. Through her company she wanted to create a great product but also help other cancer fighters by donating partial proceeds to cancer organizations she has had personal experience with. Anna has been involved with everything from creation of the formula, colors, to manufacturing, packaging, and website content.

Anna has been married to Jim for 4 years and together they are raising 5 kids as a blended family; Anna’s three, ages 16, 18, 21, and Jim’s two, ages 16 and 18. Yes, it’s a wild and crazy life. Besides the two already in college, Anna and the family live in Metro Detroit.

This is a real life conversation about what's been happening around here, sisters.

I unplugged for 3 whole days... say what??? It was necessary and it was so nice to experience everything around me for me only. No capturing an image to share it on Instagram, but instead to live into a moment that was made just for me. I invite you to do the same and see how you feel.

I also share some truth about what it's like to be a business owner at times. There are so many people who glamorize this life and yes, sometimes it's the greatest blessing, but the truth is it's not always easy. Sometimes we love it, and sometimes it teaches us to continue to learn how to pivot. Today we're really getting into the pivot.

Who has been in a funk lately? I don't know what's been in the air (my soul sisters who study the moon phases can probably point to something in the universe) but I have been in a funk this past week and well, it's been funky my friends.

I tried to resist it, I tried to flow with it, I tried it all...

Today I am sharing the three steps that finally got me to the other side of this thing:

1. Give yourself permission to be in the funk

2. Put yourself in a timeout

3. Show up for yourself

Sometimes we get caught up in all of the doing and we forget why we're even doing it. We forget to just BE. We loose sight of the fact that sharing our story is more important than we think, it could even become a page in someone else's survival guide.
