Nigeria, Africa's largest nation, has declared a new leader after a highly disputed presidential election. Officials say Bola Ahmed Tinubu won the contest despite a growing outcry from opposition parties. A top priority of his will be tackling economic issues like inflation, unemployment and the recent bank notes shortage in an economy where 90% of transactions are made in cash. That's something today's featured guest, Tayo Oviosu, knows well. He's the Founder/CEO of Paga, a Nigerian money transfer firm that processes over $800 million of transactions each month by allowing users to digitally send and receive money and access financial services via their app or one of their many retail agents. He joins Julia from Lagos.
Also on today's show: Will Marshall, Cofounder/CEO of Planet Labs, which designs, builds and operates a constellation of over 200 imaging satellites in orbit, capturing daily snapshots of the world.
