In this episode of Feed The DJ Podcast, GirlOnTheRocks is joined by the internationally-acclaimed DJ Sauci Soni, whose eight-year career has taken her across six countries and earned her two international residencies. Born and raised in Guyana, Soni brings the rhythms of her Caribbean and West African roots into everything she plays — blending culture, bass, and body-moving energy into sets that speak to the soul.

From their first meeting at the Support Women DJs open decks event to now sitting together in the studio, GirlOnTheRocks digs into the story behind Soni’s name, the music that shaped her, and the journey that took her from Guyana to NYC’s vibrant nightlife scene. Soni opens up about the realities of being a global DJ — juggling residencies in multiple countries, finding gigs abroad, building an international network, and navigating the industry as her name grows worldwide.

She shares her favorite places she’s performed, where she dreams of spinning next, and offers real advice for DJs aspiring to take their sound global.

This episode is full of culture, travel, hustle, and rhythm — and make sure you stay tuned until the end for an exclusive live DJ set from Sauci Soni.

On this episode of Feed The DJ Podcast, GirlOnTheRocks sits down with RHETLAW — the “GrooveBox Gladiator” known for blending soulful melodies, hypnotic rhythms, and high-energy genre-defying sets. Rising from South Jersey’s underground to notable stages and residencies, RHETLAW shares the journey that shaped his unique sound.

Together, they dive into the early moments that sparked his musical path, his evolution from DJ to producer, and the life lessons music has taught him along the way. RHETLAW opens up about his love for vinyl culture, the influence of jungle and UK-garage, and the albums and artists that permanently shifted his creative lens.

This conversation is full of movement, meaning, and music — perfect for listeners who love dance culture, crate-digging stories, and the artistry behind building a set that’s not just heard, but felt. We’re back outside — and today’s episode is a MOVIE. I’m chopping it up with my guy Westside Flip, Harlem-born DJ-producer and certified NYC nightlife heavyweight. If you’ve partied anywhere from House of Yes to Baby’s Alright, Lot Radio, or the Apollo Theater, you’ve definitely felt his energy. Flip’s sets are pure global fusion — amapiano, baile funk, hip-hop, jazz, house, dembow — all wrapped in that signature New York flavor.

We talk about the come-up, leveling up, flipping the room’s energy, navigating the ever-changing NYC club scene, and building a sound that travels the world without leaving the booth.

And don’t go anywhere — Flip shuts down the episode with an exclusive live DJ set.

Today on Feed the DJ, I’m talking with Saphyre—an electronic producer and rising DJ whose sound blends U.K. dance, U.S. house, and the nostalgic warmth of 80s/90s reggae + dancehall. Her music channels the energy of warehouse rave culture while still feeling fresh, modern, and emotionally driven.

We discuss what inspired her unique sound palette, her transition from producer to DJ, and how her creative process shifts when she’s behind the decks. We also get into a bigger conversation: the lack of a true local electronic scene, what community is missing, and how we can build more spaces that nurture electronic artists right here at home.

We talk about crossover potential with hip-hop, challenges of finding the right shows, and the importance of making space for artists who don’t fit into one single box.

PLUS — stay till the end to hear her brand new single “Red Flag Rhythm.”
A real convo on artistry, genre, identity—and what it will take to build a stronger electronic community from the ground up.

On today’s episode, I’m sitting down with DJ Drew—a heavy hitter on the 1s and 2s with roots that run deep in NYC’s DJ culture. Son of legendary NY DJ Ross The Boss (WKTU / 103.5), Drew grew up watching the game from backstage before he ever touched a controller. Now he’s headlining major stages, rocking rooms nationwide, and curating his own spaces for DJs to connect and elevate.

We talk about building confidence in your craft, breaking into new markets, networking the right way, bouncing back when sets don’t go as planned, and why showing up for other DJs still matters in today’s industry.

We also get into his recent DJ Meetup event on Staten Island, how it came together, and what’s next for the movement.

PLUS — stay till the end to hear DJ Drew close out the episode with a live set. A dope convo on hustle, community, elevation—and making your mark in this business without losing who you are.
