The Oscar season is here, and Bayani and Thirdy take a look at the films they’ve checked out that have been nominated at the 94th Academy Awards. 

Do the Oscars even matter at all? Besides that, we have a talk about the Disney mass walkout because of the Don’t Say Gay Bill, CDPR’s ‘ol reliable IP The Witcher, and the massive-looking Hogwarts Legacy.

After 100%-ing Elden Ring, Thirdy couldn’t wait to gush about the second coming of Christ in gaming, but before we get into From’s latest hit, Bayani has to process his weekend movie marathon with Turning Red, Drive My Car, and Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners.  

There’s also something in there about Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett. Oh, did you know Spider-Man: No Way Home leaked early?

After a very unexpected delay, the Geeks are back with their second season of hot takes and unwarranted opinions. 

To kick things off, we’re going to be talking about the new Batman movie or ‘How Batman Learned to Stop Brooding and Fight an Incel Uprising’. Before that, we have some short thoughts on Euphoria, Peacemaker, and the rest of the kino films we’re trying to catch up to as far as 2022 goes.

Thirdy takes over as we discuss the biggest drops and reveals that came with the 2021 Game Awards like Star Wars Eclipse and The Matrix Awakens on VR. 

We also take a look at the winners and the fallen Icarus that is Cyberpunk 2077.  Even if this is a game-heavy episode, we still took time to talk about Netflix cancelling Cowboy Bebop after one season; and the possible trouble of Black Panther 2 with Letitia Wright’s anti-vaxx stance.

How’re you DUNE? We’re taking a break from our usual newsweek to focus all on Denis Villeneuve’s cultural reset that is Dune (2021). We brought in our mentat friends Al and Fidel to talk about Frank Herbert’s books and the relevance of Dune in pop-culture. Does the film hold up? Or is Villeneuve looking at another audience alienator?
