Carol Stippleman-University of Utah Health-Discussed the importance of getting vaccinations and immunizations, as well as how not getting vaccinated poses a larger threat to the community.

Lance Bandley-ARUP Blood Services-Discussed the ongoing need for blood donations and how important it is that people give blood to help others live.

Jason Curry-Utah Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands-Discussed recent wildfires in the state and how the efforts to fight them have gone. Also talked about current fire threat levels and what people need to be doing to avoid accidentally igniting a fire. Concluded by going over continuing wildfire danger and the importance of taking preventative measures to protect from sparking another blaze.

John Gleason and Zach Whitney-Utah Department of Transportation-Discussed recent road expansion projects and how the state’s infrastructure is continuing to grow. Also talked about the recent findings of a seven year environmental study on the area for the proposed West Davis corridor. Concluded by going over expansion plans for the state in the future, as well as what to expect in certain counties to deal with the growth in population.

Joyce Sterns-West Jordan Fire Department-Discussed the training and career opportunities available for women looking into becoming firefighters. Also talked about some of the things that those in the profession experience and what they are able to do. Concluded by going over ways people can apply and get involved with the fire department.

Adan Batar-Catholic Community Services-Discussed the recent influx of refugees here to Utah and the efforts to resettle them. Also talked about the ways his organization is working on helping get refugees established in the community and how they are able to provide for themselves. Concluded by going over how people in the community can help with refugee resettlement and how they can get involved in bettering their lives.

Jen Oxborrow and Greg Butler-Utah Domestic Violence Coalition and Woods Cross Police Chief respectively-Discussed some of the recent disturbing and tragic cases of domestic violence we’ve seen here in Utah, and what people should have watching for to try and help the victims. Also talked about some of the warning signs of domestic violence and how to spot if someone is being abused. Concluded by going over ways people can help victims of domestic violence and what steps are being taken to strengthen laws regarding the issue.

Amanda Hughes-Boys and Girls Club of Salt Lake City-Discussed how the club helps disadvantaged kids be able to get ahead and further their education.

Alan Ormsby-AARP-Discussed the efforts of the organization to provide assistance to retired couples and the programs the organization offers for those looking for something to do after retirement.
