Lu Klein - Troopers Hike

Set description: "I recorded the set after one of my collectives parties in the Netherlands, in Groningen at club OOST. After a club night I enjoy playing deep and seizing records, that take you on a journey. I never prepare sets in that sense of making a tracki list. It works the best for me when I catch an audiences mood or when I'm in a certain mood and from that on I dig my way through my records and digital music. The set was recorded on 2x 350cdjs, 2x technics and the allen heath xone 42. I can't really provide a tracklist since I don't quite remember in what files of mine I was browsing. This particular recording reminds me of troopers hiking with dragging but steady progression. I always like to emphasise a smooth journey in my recordings without interuption or disturbance. This recording is faded out because the original length would have exceeded the maximum."

About Lu Klein

Lu’s artistic career has it roots in Groningen, NL. Inspired by the local scene she dedicated herself to the finest underground sounds, ranging from deep to soulful groove seeking minimal.

In 2016 she co founded the collective The Cave. which successfully filled a gap by throwing warehouse parties in unique locations and showcasing local artists as well as rising talents from all over the world. Despite of spinning at her collective's parties, she has performed at local clubs like Paradigm and OOST.

Digging deep into the treasures of local record stores has certainly influenced her style and contributed to her ability to comprise a broad spectrum of minimal. Her sets span from hypnotic to energetic grooves. Currently, she is located back in the Netherlands where she follows up on her studies and gains work experiences as well as focuses on new challenges and her own artistic path.

About Vorosh

My name is Anton Voroshilov. I am from Russia.

Have been interested in music since early childhood and listened to it on my favourite reel-to-reel recorder. Then I graduated from the music school, mastered several instruments, studied music literature and in general everything that is somehow connected with classics. Later switched to electronic music. First, just listened and collected the music of the most famous electronic music composers. But decided not to stop: started to get interested in music mixing, learnt special literature and as a result have mastered different ways of mixing. And only after it all tried to compose my own tracks. To create the samples I have tried alot of software and the most comfortable turned out to be Ableton Live. Now I spend a lot of time to compose music of minimal house style.

About Priseu

I'm a romanian 18 years old bedroom dj. Nothing much to say about me, I can say I'm a simple person. Only passion I have is minimal music. I felt in love with it since I was 15 years old, when I went to my first party near my hometown in Bacau. One of my personal future goals in my life that I want to improve my producing skills (since 1 month I started producing, but I didn't show anyone my works because I'm still a little bit uncertain about it). In my free time, when I'm not listening/playing music I like to play football, sometimes I read books if I find some good works and I love going to the woods with friends for a camping session, because I love nature more than any other places.

Silviu Lucaci (aka Cilviu) was born in a small city of Hunedoara, the tale of breathtaking gothic experiences. Where the magic began, that’s when his passion towards music started too. The Romanian electronic music producer and DJ is appreciated for his work in the minimal techno and microhouse genres.

Widovski – Closer to Oneness

Set description: "This is not a set, this is a journey we're taking into a stormy night, set in the midst of summer. It begins slowly, through the woods, with a melancholic and calming atmosphere, emerging roughly in the windy part of the night. As we move along, the wind starts to lose control, becoming chaotic and fearful only to find that the storm becomes unexpectedly quiet and chilly, slowly pushing the moon aside, just to bring it to its rightful place. In the end, it turns out to be a blissful morning filled with sunshine, drifting you into the rays of sun with your special person."

About Widovski

Widovski is a name that was built in time, slowly but surely. It's an entity, an idea that I want to express through music (and soon through other different art forms). I started creating and expanding more thoroughly about 4 years ago when everything around didn't quite have a sense of reality and decided that my purpose as an artist was to change that. Volar - feeder sound open call set

Set description: "My mix for the Open call is mysterious and trippy. I love sound like this so much. It was recorded 12.08 live in my bedroom :) I put together tracks with an interesting textured sound. The mix included a lot of unreleased stuff and tracks from many heroes of minimal scene. In the middle of the mix, an interesting track from Akiko Kiyama with acapella on russian language. I was very surprised when I found it. It's great when music unite different cultures and different people around the world.

Nexam - The Way I Feel

Set description: "The set debuts melancholically with a more slow tempo track (Lulu Rouge – Melankoli), easing the listener into a realm of reflection. Soon after, this is gently blended into a more minimal territory with bursts of broken beats, evoking a more fearless and liberating spirit present in each one of us. Its aim is to inspire the listener adopt an empty canvas approach to creativity, where anything is possible, forms are loose, shapeless and every day can be a revelation or a new discovery. This is the way I feel."

About Nexam

Nexam, on his real name Cristi Apetrei, is a passionate music selector, who is currently based in London.

His style balances the minimal sound aesthetic with deep, dark, emotionally-charged music. He believes music opens new channels of consciousness for those who listen and uses it as a way to express himself. Through his music and sets, he employs the notion of ‘storytelling’, taking the listeners on a sonic journey that sometimes emerges hypnotically through loopy, hauntingly melodic productions and other times more vividly through rolling, break-beat sounds.

Born in Romania, but having spent the past decade in the UK, Nexam has absorbed the different nuances of his environments, resulting in a widely-cultured perspective that allows him to experiment and push into new realms of possibility.

Parea - Off Week 2018 Private Event Warm Up

Set description: "The set is an extract of a 3 hour warm up I recorded in 2018 at a private event in a "secret" location during Off Week in Barcelona. Warm-up sets are my favourite and I always try to set the correct mood. There are few things sexier than a good warm-up set ;)"

About Parea

Marc is a young dj/producer from Barcelona who grew up influenced by the music of the 80s and his parents' vinyl records. He began to be interested in electronic music at age 16 and at age 18 he began to play private events with friends. Graduated from SAE Institute Barcelona. Vinyl is his favorite medium and he has been seen playing in clubs in Barcelona such as City Hall, Elrow Barcelona (rowbar) and at Hypnotic School Festival (b2b Alt.society).
