Jordan and Erich continue the breakdown of the TV Show See. We'll be talking about the second episode of the series called Message In a Bottle as a title. This episode is much less action-packed and serves to increase the tension between the main characters by setting up points of future contention. But, as with the last episode, we also talk about the small details that really sell the immersion in the story.

  • Jordan Criss on Video Games, Simulations, VFX, and Electric Vehicles

Today on the podcast, I'm joined by Jordan Criss, a longtime friend, and guest. In many ways, this conversation was really us catching up after not talking for a couple of weeks. As always, it's a lot of fun for us to dive into all the things that we're thinking about or interested in, or just the going on in life.

We start this conversation by talking about video games and the difference between video game storytelling and storytelling in film. Then, we cover the bases of some of our favorite story-driven games, like Mass Effect.

I also bring up that I am currently working on a playthrough of the last of us, part two, which I'm actually streaming on YouTube. So if you go to the Feeding Curiosity page, I think there are four episodes at the time of this recording.

We get into other ideas about telling storytelling and technology. For instance, we talk about corridor digital, a VFX YouTube channel. I've been exploring all of their content and understanding how we use software and technology to create lifelike effects that aren't really there. I also talk of another computer-driven software. A channel called Two-Minute papers, which used the video game, GTA, and AI image processing to create a lifelike version of the game in all, so many cool things happening within the creative realms of creating more and more lifelike simulations.

In another area of this, we also talk about electronic vehicles a little bit and the future. So with that summarization, I hope you enjoy this conversation with Jordan, Chris, and as always, there will be show notes for you to find links to all of the things that I just mentioned here and timestamps for you to find those sections and what we thought about them. So you can explore them yourself.

  • Joe Jackowski on Yeonmi Park and Speaking the Truth

Today on the podcast. I am joined by returning guests and good friend Joe Jackowski. We recorded this one in Michigan at the beginning of June, and really it was our way of catching up with each other. Since we hadn't spoken in a little while, basically, he was last on the podcast.

We reminisce about old times. Some of that is Joe's experience with the military, starting with things around pests and how we view insects of the world. From there, we get into the more usual topics that we typically explore around psychology.

More recently, we discuss some topics around the response to the pandemic, which we bring podcasts that left a mark on how we have been thinking. The first podcast is with Sarah Hallberg on Peter Attia’s podcast. The second podcast was Yeonmi Park on Jordan Peterson’s podcast. Both of these podcasts are well worth your time listening to.

The final part of this conversation is that Joe provides a slight taste of what he's going to be doing next, which will be doing his master's program for clinical psychology in Columbia, New York, which is very exciting. So please enjoy this conversation with Joe Jackowski.
