As many of us prepare for Thanksgiving this week, host Ali Muldrow has a conversation with some folks who are making sure that there is food on everyone’s table. But first we kick off the show talking about the hunger for learning and the devouring of a good book. Our guests are Madison Reading Project’s Rowan Childs, The River Food Pantry’s Rhonda Adams, and the Goodman Community Center’s Francesca Frisque.

Rowan Childs is the Founder & Executive Director of Madison Reading Project. Madison Reading Project is a local non-profit that connects our community with free books and literacy resources that ignite a love for reading and affirm and reflect the diversity of young readers. They have given out over 100,000 books so far in 2023.

Rhonda Adams is the Executive Director of The River Food Pantry. The River is South Central Wisconsin’s busiest food pantry. Services include free groceries and freshly prepared meals for pickup or delivery, online grocery orders, mobile meals, and emergency food lockers.

Francesca Frisque is the Assistant Director of The Fritz Food Pantry at the Goodman Community Center. Francesca joins us from the annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive where they have provided more than 4 thousand families with everything needed to prepare a traditional holiday meal.
