Emotions are like ocean waves—we can either watch them from a distance or step in and truly experience them. Instead of letting our feelings become the engine that drives our lives, we’re invited to let God’s wisdom lead while our emotions follow. Looking at Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, we learn to pause, give ourselves permission to feel, and then ponder and pray through what we’re experiencing. When we choose to feel our emotions in healthy, intentional ways, God leads us toward healing, growth, and a life that’s more than just “fine.
