An EMOTIONAL TRIGGER is any person, words, actions, situations, or environments that make us emotionally uncomfortable. We’ll likely experience intense, excessive physical sensations. 

When we feel like we DON’T HAVE A VOICE, we may be believing that we can’t speak up. 

I invite you to consider these questions:

  • When do you notice feeling like you don’t have a voice?
  • What do you notice telling yourself that you can’t speak up because:
    • you won’t be listened to anyway
  • the other person won’t listen
  • the other person won’t understand
  • When do you notice feeling emotionally, mentally, or physically unsafe to use your voice to speak up?
  • When do you worry that your words will be repeated incorrectly or that someone will put words in your mouth?
  • When do you notice feeling as if your voice is inferior to others?
  •
