The scripture attests that God brought a mixed multitude out of Egypt. There are many lessons to be learned from this multitude, for we also live in an age filled with mixed multitudes.

God gives many warnings to us in the scripture. He is calling us to turn from our sin as a nation and repent. The nation of Israel in the Old Testament becomes an example to us of what happens when a people will not obey God. His judgment stands at the door, ready to be unleashed upon us... we must repent or be destroyed.

What do we gain from our participation in Christ- What is conveyed to us- What does God give to us as His own chosen people- This week we examine the blessings and benefits that our Father gives us in Christ. We consider the Biblical pictures of our salvation and of our relationship to Christ so that we might better understand our rich and precious inheritance in Him.

What does it mean to be a partaker of Christ- How do we become His own, and what is the impact it has on our lives, on our nature, on our character-

We are told to hold fast to our confidence, our confession firm to the end. This confident belief, this ground of faith becomes our assurance that we belong to God. But what is the substance of what we are called to believe-

The sin of unbelief is rampant in the world and in the visible church. We, as the people of God, are called to guard ourselves and each other from this sin. To fight the culture war before it invades the mind of the church and to stand for the truth of God in all areas of our lives.

The command to beware has as its primary focus the brethren around us. We are commanded to be watching over our brethren for the sake of their souls. The body has a responsibility to guard those who are a part of it. This mutual commitment to care for, to actively love one another requires a commitment TO one another. It requires active participation and membership in a local body of Christ. The body, the bride, the local church matters.

The warning for us to be on our guard is crucial for the effectiveness of the Christian life. We are soldiers of the cross and as such are in the midst of a spiritual war for which many of us are unprepared. We must beware, we must be ready, we must be intentional about advancing the cause of Christ-

The Lord warns us that those who will not believe are not His. He cautions us to not waste today, but to be sure of our soul's deposit into His hands. There are warnings given to us in the history of Israel about the heart of unbelief, and the mixed multitude that came out of Egypt. These warnings are for our good... we MUST heed them-
