The Trinity seems like a strange belief. It even seems like it doesn’t matter that much to our Christian life. But instead of being irrelevant trivia about God, it is central to our understanding of God’s nature and His love for us.

Life often seems to leave us wanting more than what we get. God, on the other hand, is generous. Paul told us in Romans 8:32 that when He gave us His Son, He also committed himself to freely give us all things; and 1 Cor. 2:9 tells us that we are incapable of imagining the limits of God’s generosity.

Last week we looked at God as Judge, a topic we like to avoid. This topic of God’s wrath makes us even more uncomfortable, but it is an undeniable part of Scripture. Like God as Judge, we will see that His wrath is a part of His goodness.

People enjoy talking about the love, grace, mercy, and kindness of God. Talking about God as Judge tends to make us uncomfortable, although it is one of the Bible’s most common ways of describing God. Maybe we don’t talk about God as Judge because we do not realize how important it is, even in our walk with the Lord.

The grace of God is at the root of the Christian faith. But do we really understand what it is? Grasping a couple of basic truths will help you see the grace of God more clearly - which will increase your love for the Lord.

“God is love” is a statement that almost everyone in our culture agrees with, but have you thought about what God’s love means? Many misunderstand God’s love, or His love simply doesn’t matter to them. Today, we’ll speak about why God’s love matters and what God’s love means. I trust that it will be transformative for you.

There are moments in life where we may find ourselves asking, “God, do you really know what you are doing?” The answer is, “Yes, He does,” because God is wise. He is omniscient, which means He knows everything there is to know. But He is also wise, meaning that He appropriately applies what he knows.

Last week Exodus 3 reassured us that God's character, purposes, and presence are unchanging. We can know that God will always love us and be at work in our lives. Psalm 139 shows God's incomprehensible greatness at work for our good.

Last week we saw that God’s glory fills the whole earth. Exodus 3 reassures us that God is not fickle. He will not change. We can always trust that He is at work.

This summer’s series is designed to help us know God better by studying His traits. The prophet Isaiah had a first-hand experience with God that changed him and gave him a new purpose. The same happens for us as we come to know God better.
