True purity is difficult to find in our day. We have to read the labels on any food, just to make sure we know what we're really putting into our bodies. It seems when a person gets exalted in this world for something good, then we find out about something bad they were keeping a secret. As the early church spread across the world, a challenge awaited their faith around every corner. How could they stay pure in the midst of great temptation? How could they keep hope in the midst of great struggle? How could they follow the true God in the middle of so many crazy ideas about God? Hope came to them in the form of a letter, from one of the closest friends of Jesus Christ, the apostle Peter. Hope still comes to us through this letter today! Join us in the month of September to find the pure God in our Lord Jesus Christ. Who knows? Maybe you will find pure joy in the process.
