Everyone has heard the phrase, “Turn the other cheek.” Most people can even tell you who said it. But what was Jesus meaning when He said that? Today we are challenged to love our friends - family - ENEMIES.

“My word is my bond.” That’s a claim we rarely hear, and even more rarely see lived out in our culture. And, intentional or not, breaking our promises will negatively affect our relationships. Today we discover the importance of being Promise Keepers.

Jesus challenged the traditional interpretation of Scriptures with these words:

The phrases of past presidents might be remembered by a few generations of Americans, but the words of Jesus have been remembered for two centuries, across cultures & continents. Join us for the greatest sermon…ever…The Sermon on the Mount by Jesus.

None of us like to think about it, but the day is coming for each of us…the day we breathe our last, and face the other side of eternity. That’s what another was thinking about when he approached Jesus to ask the most important question: “How can I KNOW that I know?”

When spouses consistently out-serve one another, the result is good marriages that are a models for others to follow. So too, our faith family is commanded to out-serve one another, resulting in real relationships that demonstrate the reality of God’s Presence.

In most cases, no one has a greater influence over our faith than our parents. This is why children so often imitate what parents demonstrate. And that’s why it’s so important we rediscover the privilege & reignite the passion of leading our children to love God.

As we complete our Journey through James, we are reminded of those who no longer walk with Jesus. So….NOW WHAT? Do we sit back & write them off as a lost cause OR do we go back in to rescue & restore those who have wandered off?
