Have you ever been a part of a church where there was such tension that you could cut it with a knife, a situation where strong leaders stood on both sides of an issue and were unwilling to bend? Have you ever been in a church where the contemporary and traditional clashed, where newcomers and long-time members stiff armed each other instead of embracing each other? What is the answer? That’s the situation we find the early church in our passage today.
