Romans 6

This passage gives us a glimpse into Paul's methodology of missionary preaching. He preached Christ in the synagogues, presenting the truth of God. That truth brings about one of two responses in the heart of mankind. When confronted with the Gospel there is the reaction of the faithful and then the world. The world rejects the Gospel while the faithful believe it. But the rejection of the Gospel does not foil God's plans. God uses even the attacks of the enemy to spread and grow his church. Christ's church is in his hand, and therefore will conquer and reign with him.

God used the wickedness of Paul and Silas' persecutors in order to bring the Gospel to the Philippian jailer and his whole family. God showed mercy and grace to a man entirely unworthy of it, just as we were unworthy of God's mercy. Praise God for his providential grace-

The focus of this sermon is how the Holy Spirit worked through Philipp to evangelize the Ethiopian Eunuch through connecting with him, communicating the Gospel, and confirming the message. We must rely on the Spirit to work, as we seek out ways to connect the Gospel to the lives of unbelievers. The Spirit is active and moving, so be ready.
