In the UK, April is all about Easter, a significant Christian festival, celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and the promise of eternal life. Common traditions involve welcoming spring and new life, spending quality time with family, the Easter bunny and stuffing your faces with overpriced chocolate eggs.
In Thailand, April is a time for celebrating the Thai new year, known as Songkran. With temperatures soaring 40°, constant sunshine and public holidays, there’s really no better time for the entire country to have a national water fight that lasts 3 days! Loud music, bright floral shirts, water pistols and face chalk = carnage, chaos and craziness!
I’ve not been in Bangkok for Songkran since 2019 so this year will be a bit different. Listen along as I talk about my favourite time of year and life’s recent shenanigans!
