Kate Webster is the Co-Founder and Director of Deer Shed; a family-focus festival that welcomes 10,00 people to beautiful, rural Yorkshire each July. This year the festival celebrates it’s 15th anniversary this summer and is widely recognised as one of the UK's best family festivals.

Kate’s journey didn’t start with Deer Shed; after working in London during her twenties in many aspects of the music industry including recording labels, music publishing and band management, she moved back up to the family farm in North Yorkshire to start a music services company specialising in music & digital media accountancy, which she still runs today (plus raising her 3 kids with husband and Co-Founder of the Festival, Oliver). In her spare time, she tries to enjoy as much live music as possible and is a keen Wild swimmer.

Today’s guest is the incredibly inspiring Samantha Brooke, founder and director of Waring Brooke – the luxury country knitwear and accessories brand that has been featured in British Vogue, Tatler, Grazia UK, and The Lady Magazine.

Samantha’s journey began straight out of university, when she was headhunted by Italian fashion powerhouse Alberta Ferretti, working as head knitwear designer in Italy. She then spent six years leading the European knitwear department for Max Studio before stepping away from fast fashion and launching her own countryside-inspired brand – and the rest is history.

Louise Jenner is known as "The Dream Job Coach." She specialises in helping individuals find and pursue careers they truly love.

Louise has a knack for understanding where people are in their career journeys and guiding them toward a path that aligns with their passions and strengths.

Born and bred in South Devon, she lived and worked in and around Gloucestershire for over 20 years before going back home in 2019. She lives next door to a dairy farm on the outskirts of Newton Abbot.

Today we have Angharad Binder. She grew up on our family farm in Suffolk which is a mixed farm with a farm shop and farm trail. 

She decided not to go into this directly and trained as a children's nurse. In September 2024, she left this for her role within the Farming Community Network.   This fits in well around her two young children and she is FCN & Macmillan Programme officer for the South East. It's a project she is passionate about, as her Dad, a farmer, is living with cancer, and they are all learning to adjust to this and planning ahead in terms of succession. Getting the message out to catch symptoms early is such an important one.

Outside of work, she is also Show Director for this year’s Hadleigh Show, an agricultural show on Saturday 17th May, attended by around 15,000 visitors. It's a voluntary role, in which you are chosen, so it is a real privilege, yet a huge amount of work! She is only the 2nd female Show Director in its 186-year history.

Alice is a freelance events and partnerships manager and auctioneer in the rural space based in Herefordshire.  She has led events worldwide and has many funny stories and problems she has overcome with these!  Working with celebrity artists and bands, to the King’s Trust and Farmers Guardian, she has had an interesting career so far!
