  • Apple II Unidisk 3.5 - Checking ejection

    This Unidisk has just been out of maintenance, because the mechanism was stuck and the eject gear was destroyed (a common issue).

    The Unidisk is a 3"1/2 drive released in 1985 for Apple II. It contains a complete computer (6502 + RAM) to control the then just released Sony 800kB double sided drive. The Apple II communicates with the drive through a "Smartport" card & interface (same old Disk II connector but with a new firmware), which is included in Apple IIc with ROM 0 and upper. All versions of ProDOS then can handle 3"1/2 disks like they do for 5"1/4 disks, but DOS 3.3 and 5"1/4 games that use low level floppy disk access aren't compatible.

  • Minky Momo | OST TV series + La Ronde in my Dream

    Compilation of all released original soundtrack for the TV show "Mahou no Princess Minky Momo" and the following OVA "Yume no naka no rondo".

    The first part is the TV series BGM, released only on vinyl disc. The second part was released on three different vinyl and audio CD.
    A lot of BGMs from the TV series are unfortunately missing from the official releases 😦 also the TV series was mixed in mono (even when reused for the OVA).
    Insert songs are not included here but they were all released on CD.

  • Poison Atari STE (preview)

    Something I'm working on. Running on a regular Atari STE with 4MB of RAM and Ultra SATAN. 30fps video + 50kHz stereo sound, 16 colors. Should be released next week (fingers crossed).

  • VHS capture - No TBC vs TBC (good quality VHS)

    This is an example of what does a TBC (TimeBase Corrector) on an analogue composite capture.

    The source is a good quality SECAM VHS. The device used as stndalone TBC is the Sony RDR-HXD870 HDD recorder.
    NoTBC => direct SECAM composite captured with a Blackmagic Intensity.
    TBC => VHS VCR plugged into the HDD recorder in composite, HDMI 576i output captured with a Blackmagic Intensity
    Deinterlace & upscale was done with QTGMC & Lanczos
