The parents of a 1-year-old girl who was hospitalized for fentanyl exposure are being held without bail on drug trafficking charges. The couple was initially charged with trafficking a Class A substance (fentanyl), illegal possession of ammunition and possession of a large-capacity magazine. Dan discusses the trafficking of fentanyl and what needs to be done to stop it.
On Thursday, nearly 200 church leaders from around the world will gather at the Vatican for a four-day summit to confront sexual abuse. Dan discusses the summit and what needs to happen at this meeting.
Tuesday, the attorney’s representing the Kentucky High School student involved in a confrontational viral video last month announced that they were suing The Washington post for $250 million in compensatory and punitive damages. The lawsuit accuses the Post of practicing "a modern-day form of McCarthyism" by targeting Nicholas Sandmann and "using its vast financial resources to enter the bully pulpit by publishing a series of false and defamatory print and online articles ... to smear a young boy who was in its view an acceptable casualty in their war against the president." Dan will be joined by Attorney Alan Dershowitz to discuss the lawsuit.
A snowstorm was raging during the show, and Dan asked callers on the road to check in and tell everyone what the road conditions were. One caller even spun out on the air.
