In Luke Chapter Six Jesus is in full swing of his ministry. The Pharisees and Sadducees are being to conspire on what to do with this man who is seeming to disobey God's law. Jesus, believing that the law was made for man and not man for law, gives an excerpt story from King David's life regarding that catering the needs of man should supersede the rules when involving hunger or health. Jesus continues healing on the Sabbath.

In this chapter, Jesus is taking a large step into becoming who we will all soon know him to be. After the excitements of being chased around, performing miracles, and teaching throughout the synagogues, Jesus is now gathering his first disciples. We see Simon Peter (who's mother in law was just healed, the sons of Zebedee and partners of Simon Peter named James and John, and the Levi the tax collector. 

Sitting down with the disciples and being approached by the Pharisees is the first time we hear Jesus speak regarding himself as the bridegroom and his disciples as the bride. This would make for a great conversation to follow...

This chapter begins diving deep into Jesus manhood as he is tempted by the great Slanderer Satan. He makes a powerful quote, "Man shall not live by bread alone" and then dives head first into his ministry leading into the gathering of the first disciples shortly after healing Simon's (soon to be Peter) mother in law.

This is an excellent Chapter as Luke is emphasizing the validity of Jesus through his lineage that not only links him to the mighty King David, but the first human Adam. This undercooked section of scripture truly brings to life just how miraculous the Hebrew people were and are today as Israel survives and thrives even in the year 2021. God's people have never been more alive as God makes preparations for his beloved son Jesus return!

In this bible study, the birth of Jesus, and Jesus as a 12 year old boy. This chapter ends with Jesus growing in wisdom, stature, and also growing in favor with God and man. This is the key to the Heart of David. King David, a former shepherd's boy, was/is notoriously a man after God's own heart. If applied personally, the Heart of David would be a personal decision to pursue ultimate physical, mental/emotional, and social health according to God's Will for your life.

The second half of Luke Chapter One is laying the foundation for the birth of Jesus to emphasize just how divinely inspired the family of Jesus was prior to his actual ministry.
