In this chapter, Jesus is taking a large step into becoming who we will all soon know him to be. After the excitements of being chased around, performing miracles, and teaching throughout the synagogues, Jesus is now gathering his first disciples. We see Simon Peter (who's mother in law was just healed, the sons of Zebedee and partners of Simon Peter named James and John, and the Levi the tax collector.
Sitting down with the disciples and being approached by the Pharisees is the first time we hear Jesus speak regarding himself as the bridegroom and his disciples as the bride. This would make for a great conversation to follow...
