She works with weddings, birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties. Just about anything that you can imagine that could enjoy sensational, one of a kind, cocktails that create a memorable event. This episode features Megan Farley of Winterset Cidery .
Nick and Niña Williams came as customers. They fell in love with the orchard and thought that it was serendipitous that a Williams Pride apple tree resided there. They set out on their journey and purchased the Cidery in 2019 with no cider making experience. Meghan joined the cidery in April of 2022. She entered with winemaking background. For Meghan, she sees so many possibilities with cider. It's an up and coming industry and she is excited to be a part of it. The orchard sits on 6 acres and produces 30 different apple varietals. They source all of the juice to create their unique ciders that explode with flavor and character. You will want to pick up all of their expressions and enjoy what this little cidery in the heartland of America has to offer.

This episode features Eleanor Leger of Eden Ciders .
It was December 2006 when Eleanor and Albert went to Montreal. They tasted ice cider for the first time. Their reaction was that it was amazing. They thought that they could procduce this ice cider in Vermont. The made their first batch in their basement. Six years after making it and selling to to local restaurants they began to explore what has become Eden Cider. In the beginning cider wasn't a thing in the United States. It was considered more of a desert wine. They discovered different apple varietals to make a wider array of ciders. Eleanor and Albert have come a long way from their infancy. Today they produce unique, well crafted ciders that are layered in flavor, depth and character. So, why not cider? Pick up a bottle or can and taste for yourself.

This episode features Becky Harris of Catoctin Creek Distilling Company .
Becky and Scott founded Catoctin Creek in 2009. At the time there were about 200 distilleries in the United Sates and 6 in Virginia. They began with a vision of making rye whiskey which was "the whiskey" up until prohibition in the Mid-Atlantic States. At Cotoctin they use batch pot still distillation. This is the key to deriving the most flavor from the rye grain. In the beginning it was difficult to get farmers to take a chance on this little craft distillery. Today those farmers are glad that they did. Catoctin produces some of the finest rye whiskey's. Combine that with the delicious cocktails in the tasting room and you have a recipe for continued growth and success. We enjoyed our fascinating conversation about history, the spirits industry and Catoctin Creek Distilling.

This episode features Miika Lipiäinen of Kyrö Distillery Company.
5 Friends in a sauna were passing around a bottle of U.S. Rye Whiskey. They started to ask themselves... "Why isn't anybody making whiskey out of Rye in Finland?" The idea stuck and they began reaching out to those in the distilling industry to help and to determine if this was a viable concept. Two and a half years later found them opening Kyrö Distillery Company. Today they see themselves as pioneers in the rye whisky space. Since opening they have won the best gin for a gin & tonic at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London. They're winning hearts, minds and spirit enjoying palates of those that are giving Kyrö a try. Don't miss the chance to enjoy some of their wonderful gin or whiskys. As they say in Finland... Kippis!

They set up shop distilling their spirits in Peach Bottom, PA. The doors to the cocktail bar and tasting room opened in Ambler, PA in July of 2022. What you will discover here are spirits layered with flavor and a nuanced sipping experience. They provide a wide variety of cocktails to highlight they're handcrafted in PA spirits.

K.C. lost his job as an IT specialist at a major brokerage firm in NYC in 2003. He decided to purchase a biker bar and turned it into The Whip Tavern. K.C. always had a desire to be in the restaurant business. He opened the whip in 2005 and today it is a premier destination restaurant. A quiet little British style country pub with delicious food and a phenomenal beer and cider selection. The restaurant serves as much locally sourced food as possible. The atmosphere, the portions, the flavors, the energy and the amazing service all come together to make The Whip a special Gem. This episode features Jay von Czoernig, Rick von Czoernig, Eric von Czoernig and Michael Froelich of von C Brewing Brewing Company.
von C got started as a senior project for Jay while he attended North Eastern University. This is when he wrote the business plan in 1993. The von Czoernig family history of brewing goes back to 1860. The lineage reaches back to Christian Schmidt who founded the largest brewery in Philadelphia. Finally in 2020 they were ready to put that business plan into action. Today what is retro is cool. They brew the OG Pils which is their nod to the Schmidt's legacy. This is what helped to make Schmidt's a household name. At von C you get to drink brewing history... past , present and future. We had such an amazing time with the Von C team. Their story is as captivating as the memorabilia in the brewery. However, the reason you come is for the incredible beer and lively energy. Prost!
