We think of all the things that Moses got to experience: the parting of the Red Sea, water from a rock, the Cloud and Fire. We read in today's chapter that Moses asks God for more. And we might think, "Come on, haven't you gotten enough?" But what Moses is asking for isn't more stuff from God, He's asking for MORE of GOD. To experience Him, to know Him better, to be closer to Him. Let us never take for granted this truth: the Almighty God, Creator of the universe, desires to have a friendship with us, the creatures He breathed out of dust.

While Moses is on the mountain getting the 10 Commandments from God, Aaron is down with the people leading them to worship the golden calf. What a mess! In that moment they broke 6/10 of the commandments and get a failing grade when it comes to obeying the Lord. But despite his major failure, Aaron is still loved and favored by the Lord. God's wasn't done with Aaron, and He's not done with us either. No mistake too big, no failure too embarrassing - God welcomes us back with open arms!

It's easy to get lost in the details when it comes to what the high priest was supposed to wear, but when you look closer it's a beautiful picture that points to Jesus. God shoulders the weight of our sin, He keeps us close to His heart. And our Great High Priest paid the debt for our sin once and for all! When the work was finished He sat down at the right hand of the Father, praise be to God!

Let's examine what was inside of the Tabernacle, and how each object points to the Savior who would one day come. These chapters of Exodus foreshadow the way God would one day dwell with His people - in our hearts. The veil is torn, the invitation is given.

Don't get distracted by all the gold and silver used to build the Tabernacle. The greatest miracle isn't that God lived in a tent, the greatest miracle is that God through His Son Jesus, came to live in you.

Is America a Christian Nation? This question can be answered definitively in the words of our founding fathers. The US has Christian roots, no doubt about it. It is a blessing to live in America with all the freedoms we enjoy, but the most important question we can ask ourselves is, "Am I born again?" In the end, being a citizen of Heaven is the only one that really matters.

Exodus 25-27 can get overlooked sometimes. We can get lost in the blueprints and specific instructions, but it's beautiful how this passage is that it points to Jesus. God is making a way to dwell with His people. When we take a minute to stop and think about that, it's really incredible! The One True Holy Living God who created the world desires to have a relationship with us, the people He made out of dirt. Let's unpack these chapters together and see the foreshadowing of our Savior in even the smallest details.

We celebrate our Heavenly Father and the fathers here on earth, especially Jesus' father, Joseph. Even though there are no recorded words from Joseph in scripture, we can learn a lot from how he accepted God's assignment for his life. He rose to the task of raising God's own son in the flesh. We are all a work in progress, still on the potter's wheel, and we may feel inadequate. But God can use people in mighty ways, even when we don't feel qualified.
